2025 Les Schwab Invitational Preview
In this article:
The 2025 Les Schwab Invitational kicks off on Friday, December 26, and for the first time in its history the event will feature 18 teams in the field of competition. To accommodate the extra two teams, the participating squads have been seeded and three teams - Westview, Roosevelt, and Gresham - will start play in the consolation bracket with games beginning on Day One. Also, with the transfer of top nationally ranked senior Tyron Stokes to Rainier Beach of Seattle, the Vikings have been added to the field to replace Stokes' old school, Notre Dame 9Calif.). Due to their schedulre restrictions, Rainier Beach will receive a bye in the first round, and will face the winner of Oregon City and Southridge in the quarterfinals.
Seven games will be played on Friday at Viking Pavilion on the campus of Portland State University - here's a look at the Oregon teams participating and their matchups.

1:30pm - Oregon City (7-0) vs. Southridge (6-1)
The matchup between the Pioneers and Slkyhawks is arguably the top game amongst Oregon teams in the first round and it should be an exciting one. Oregon City comes into the LSI on a tear, having won every game by double digits after their opener against Jesuit. Led by a balanced attack featuring

3:00pm - Central Catholic (2-3) vs. Canby (2-1)
A battle between two pre-season favorites at the 6A and 5A levels, both Central Catholic and Canby come into the LSI licking some wounds. Central Catholic may have a losing record so far, but their losses have come against two top Utah teams and on the road against Southridge, but still have one of the most talented rosters in the entire state.

6:45pm - Pace Academy (GA) vs. Tualatin (5-2)
Tualatin enters the tournament with a tolid resume. The Timberwolves dropped a tough game in Southridge's Tournament at the beginning of the seaosn, but have bounced back to win 5 of their last 6, with 3 of those wins coming in the Capitol City Classic. In that tournament, they played Ruston (LA) tough in the semis before defeating touted Webster Groves (MO) in the third place game. As expected, senior Montana commit
