2ND Team
Arguably the best shooter in the state, Groenig was one of the key pieces of a Skyhawks team that won the always tough Metro League, gaining the overall #1 seed in the process. Although they were upset in the Round of 16, it doesn’t detract from the year that Groenig had. He’ll take his shooting ability to Eugene to play at Bushnell of the NAIA Cascade Conference.

, a Bushnell University signee, continues to show why he’s considered one of the top shooters in the state. A confident scorer who gets to his spots, he’s deadly as a catch-and-shoot threat and effective in the mid-range. Groenig punished defenses that left him open, finishing with 24 points and adding seven rebounds to cap off a standout performance.

Arguably the top long-ranger shooter in his class, Groenig’s range can be described by the proverbial phrase “when he steps into the gym”. The Southridge senior has proven this season that he simply cannot be left open – and left open feet beyond the high school three-point arc as he’s liable to burn the nets from deep. More than just a shooter, his abilities at creating off the dribble are continuing to improve as well. (JT)
