Hopkins was the best player on one of the best teams in the state. The 6’7 wing is a dynamic playmaker with the ability to shoot it from deep & attack the rim where his leaping ability is a difference maker. With an increase in aggression on the offensive end of the floor, we would expect D1 offers to be coming for Hopkins.

An athletic finisher who plays above the rim, Hopkins thrives attacking the basket as a slasher, using his quick first step and strength to get downhill and pressure defenses. Around the rim, he shows a soft touch and the ability to finish with either hand, making him tough to stop once he gets inside. He also adds skill to his game with a nice turnaround jumper, giving him a reliable scoring option in the half court. Hopkins makes his presence felt beyond scoring as a strong rebounder and rim protector, using his athleticism and timing to impact plays defensively. With his combination of strength, versatility, and two-way ability, he’s a consistent force on the floor.

Hopkins turned in a strong performance with 14 points and 8 rebounds. A versatile and athletic presence, he attacked the rim with a quick first step and showed nice touch around the basket, including a smooth turnaround jumper. Hopkins also protected the rim, had a couple of nice dunks as well, and could finish with either hand at the rim while also battling on the boards.

This past week, Hopkins displayed how much of a versatile offensive weapon he is. He impacted the game in a variety of ways. He has a good jumper with a smooth mid-range game, highlighted by a polished fadeaway that he can go to when needed. Hopkins finishes at the rim with ease, attacks downhill confidently, and plays above the rim, making him a constant lob threat and high-level slasher. He’s a solid defender and good rebounder who competes on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he shows comfort as a decent ball handler and can operate as a solid post player when matched up inside. Add in his ability to knock down the three, his strong basketball IQ, Hopkins brings real value as a vocal leader and true team player who consistently makes winning plays.

He had 13 points at halftime and finished with 16 points and 5 rebounds, continuing his rise as one of the top stock risers from this past summer.

Hopkins knocked down his free throws and scored efficiently, posting 11 points in the first half and finishing with 18 points overall, showcasing his ability to produce consistently throughout the game.

A versatile player who can play multiple positions on both ends of the floor, Hopkins emerged as a sophomore and after honing his game this summer with Select Basketball will be an even bigger force for Oregon City. Athletic 6-foot-7 forward put numbers on the board in an efficient and high percentage way. Showed good range with his jumper, was able to create off the dribble, and finished at the rim. Really ran the floor and was devastating as a scorer in transition. (JT)
