Hopkins and his team had a great showing at Cali Live, going undefeated and winning its bracket over St. Ignatius of San Francisco, and going for 21 points, connecting on 5 threes in the championship game. Hopkins has the wingspan and timing to block shots in transition, as well as alter shots on the perimeter or in the paint, has the awareness and instincts to jump passing lanes or deflect passes to get out in the open court, where he can display his elite bounce for some big time dunks. Hopkins moves well off the ball to get open looks off the catch on the perimeter, uses the back-cut or v-cut to get space from his defender, has great timing to catch and throw down the lob off the baseline, has the moves to create off the bounce, using the crossover, hesitation, spin-move, and fade-away to get open looks off the bounce, is accurate with the jumper, from the mid-range to the 3-point line, and is a creative scorer around the basket with the euro-step and up-and-under lay-ups to evade height in the paint. 

Hopkins is an explosive, athletic wing who brings energy and versatility every time he steps on the floor. A true high-flyer, Hopkins plays above the rim and consistently makes highlight-reel plays with his athleticism. The 6’7 wing is a dynamic playmaker with the ability to shoot it from deep & attack the rim where his leaping ability is a difference maker. With an increase in aggression on the offensive end of the floor, we would expect D1 offers to be coming for Hopkins.

Hopkins also protected the rim, had a couple of nice dunks as well, and could finish with either hand at the rim while also battling on the boards.

He has a good jumper with a smooth mid-range game, highlighted by a polished fadeaway that he can go to when needed. Hopkins finishes at the rim with ease, attacks downhill confidently, and plays above the rim, making him a constant lob threat and high-level slasher. He’s a solid defender and good rebounder who competes on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he shows comfort as a decent ball handler and can operate as a solid post player when matched up inside.
