The last time we saw Barlow play earlier this summer Cummings was not in the lineup and it definitely made a difference – this time with him in action the Bruins cruised to a big win over Mountain View of Vancouver. The rising senior simply has full control of the game when he’s running the point, capably running the offense or taking over with his own offense when needed. In this game with Barlow’s big men not present, he added rebounding to his resume pulling down 11 boards to go with his 16 points.

There’s no question Cummings can score – we saw it often this past season at Barlow. But where the senior point guard impressed us at the Super 24 was with his floor leadership, passing, and feel for the game. He didn’t score a single point in the game we watched him closely on Sunday, but still stood out with all the aforementioned qualities and he dished out 5+ assists in a blowout win.

A dynamic point guard and slasher, Cummings impacts the game with his ability to attack downhill and score at all three levels. He’s a well-rounded shooter, capable of stretching defenses, and also a strong passer who keeps teammates involved. A proven leader and previous state champion, he brings winning experience and a strong work ethic every time he steps on the floor. Defensively, he competes hard and stays active, finishing with 3 steals in his game against GRIT.

Cummings stepped out of the shadows of a talented 2025 class that fueled Barlow’s first state title in school history to emerge as the leader of a team that exceeded most experts opinions this season. Another physical guard that has shown the ability to knock down shots from deep & lead his team, all levels of college hoops should take the time to see him play this off season.

Cummings showcased a confident and efficient scoring performance, finishing with 18 points and 4 assists. He’s a solid three-point shooter with a smooth, good-looking stroke and is comfortable scoring in the mid-range. Cummings also contributes defensively, giving steady effort on both ends while playing with confidence and poise.

Super fundamental guard that showed a great feel for the game and was a leader on the floor whenever he was in the game. Competed hard on both ends, took what the defense gave him, and made plays for both himself and teammates with incredible balance while also getting the job done on defense. Barlow graduates a lot of firepower but the return of the 6-foot junior guard will keep them competitive. (JT)
