The future Loyola-Maryland greyhound put together perhaps the top all-around performance in the game for Oregon, posting 20 points on 7-for-13 shooting, grabbing 9 rebounds, and dishing out a team-high 5 assists. Long was in control of the basketball whenever it was in his hands and made great decisions in transition, whether it was to go in for the score himself or get it to an open teammate.

The steady combo guard was part of a talented senior class at Central Catholic. Throughout the season, the physical combo guard was effective on both ends of the floor. Those efforts were rewarded in the fall when he was offered & accepted a scholarship to D1 Loyola of Maryland.

Long put together an impressive and well-rounded tournament, averaging 14.7 points and 2.7 assists per game while impacting the game on both ends. An athletic guard with a smooth style, Long consistently gets past defenders with ease thanks to his quick first step and strong handle. Offensively, he’s a versatile scorer—able to knock down shots as an outside shooter, attack as a slasher, and finish effectively around the rim with a soft touch. He plays especially well in transition, where his instincts and speed create easy opportunities. A solid free-throw shooter, he adds reliability when getting to the line. Beyond scoring, Long stands out with his great defense, basketball IQ, and ability to play with poise and patience. He’s a true team player and leader, making the right reads and consistently creating good looks within the flow of the offense.

He found quality scoring opportunities within the flow of the offense and showed a soft touch around the rim when finishing. Long also exceled in transition, using his speed and instincts to create easy scoring chances for himself and teammates.

Defensively, Long is a good on-ball defender and a true competitor who embraces tough matchups. His high basketball IQ, versatility, and willingness to do the little things make him an excellent team player. Add in his slashing ability and clutch play, and Long is a guard you can trust in big moments as well.
