A whole host of college coaches from the D-III/NAIA/JC ranks came to watch the talent on display, and after checking our own notes, we checked in with tournament director Luke Roth and coach Marshall Cho to see who they thought were the top performers on the weekend. After tallying up the votes, here's the top five.

Hartenstein was our pick for tournament MVP as he led Team Isom to the title. The Westside Christian guard was simply unstoppable as he got downhill, especially in transition where he would either convert at the hoop or get it to teammates for scores. He posted a game-high 17 points in the finals along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists, and also recorded 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists in the semifinals. From start to finish, he was the most consistent performer. We caught up with him at the event about his future plans and will be posting an update soon.

Full disclosure - Silbernagel would have been the pick for MVP if not for the fact he had to leave at halftime of the title game in order to catch a flight. Because up to that point, the 6-foot-5 forward had been absolutely dominant all weekend. It all started with an eye-popping 24-point, 21-rebound effort in the semifinals (with 3 assists, 3 blocks, and 3 steals to boot) in what was arguably the best performance in event history, and then he followed that up with 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks in the first half of the finals. The unsigned 2A Player of the Year simply has an incredible nose for the ball on the boards and his combination of strength, footwork, and soft touch around the hoop made him unstoppable offensively.

Lomber was the top scoring threat at the event, first posting an event single-game record of 29 points (on 12-18 shooting) in the semifinals against Team Vera, and then adding another 14 points in the finals. Overall, there wasn't much defenses could do against the length, athleticism, and ability to score at all three levels from the Valley Catholic junior swingman as he showed equal prowess in both the half court and transition sets. While Team Leman lost a close one in the finals, Lomber also played tough on defense registering 3 blocks and 3 steals.

Arguably the top athlete in attendance at the Mid-Major Classic was Frank, who wowed with his ability to get to the hoop and play above the rim. His overall numbers weren't huge but he served as a great compliment to Hartenstein and Silbernagel on Team Isom, posting 12 points and 5 rebounds in the semifinals and another 9 points and 5 rebounds in the finals win. The Valley Catholic junior was super efficient with his play, making good decisions with the ball and shot selection, and effectively using his leaping ability to sky and grab boards above others.

Gilbert is the kind of shooter that when he's hot he can really get going, so when the point guard from the 2A state champs was knocking down shots early, he looked to keep things going. This was particularly true in the semifinals, when he knocked down 4-for-8 from three-point range and 6-for-11 overall in scoring 18 points. The shot wasn't falling as much in the finals, but he still scored 7 points and in general, kept turnovers to a minimum.
