Expert Analysis
Jed Tai | Prep Hoops Scout
Hartenstein was our pick for tournament MVP as he led Team Isom to the title. The Westside Christian guard was simply unstoppable as he got downhill, especially in transition where he would either convert at the hoop or get it to teammates for scores. He posted a game-high 17 points in the finals along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists, and also recorded 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists in the semifinals. From start to finish, he was the most consistent performer. We caught up with him at the event about his future plans and will be posting an update soon.

When Hartenstein left 4A North Marion in the off season, it totally changed Westsides chances for a state title repeat. Arguably the best offensive player in Oregon’s smaller classifications, the 6’2 guard has shown the ability to shoot it from deep while also attacking & finishing around the basket where his athletic ability allows him to separate from defenders.

Played with some good patience on his drives to keep working his man and either get the edge and get to the hoop, or turn back to the middle and finish with quick shots in the paint. Also had some nice hanging finishes after contact inside and showed he can step out and sink some threes too.
