Expert Analysis

Bell scored his 1,000th career point off a steal that led to an and-1 dunk to extend Ursuline’s lead that they would never surrender in the fourth quarter. Bell is a physical wing who applies a lot of ball pressure and has quick hands defensively. Looking to overpower defenders at the rim, Bell wants to go straight through your chest in the paint. Congrats to Noah on 1,000 career points and Ursuline on another marquee victory.

Another player who flat out outworks the opposition, you can’t tell Bell he isn’t able to get a rebound or loose ball. For his height, Bell might be the best offensive rebounder in the state. Once he gets those extra possessions in the paint, he has the strength to finish through contact with numerous and-1 layups. I also was impressed by Bell’s finishing with both hands at the rim. Not the most talented player you’ll find but it’s extremely difficult to find a player who competes harder than Bell does.

Lots of players think they need the ball in their hands to score the basketball and

proved that wrong with 17 points off of cuts and running the floor. Credit to Bell’s teammates for finding him when he was open but Bell did an excellent job of making himself available along the baseline where he could easily catch and finish through contact. At the college level lots of players will be used to having the ball in their hands during the high school game and Bell displays a very advanced understanding of how to play without the ball and still impact scoring. Strong performance by Bell who has consistently impacted the game at the 3SSB level with Wildcat Select.

One of the highest motors in all of Ohio, Bell flat out competes every time he laces up his shoes. His effort levels get him a couple easy buckets a game and Friday evening was no different as he got some putback layups and used his strength to finish through traffic. Bell also is smart moving without the basketball and really takes advantage of the defense when they are trapping and rotating. It also helps that Bell plays with his high school teammate at point guard in Jaylen Gunther for Wildcat Select 16 U as well. Another prospect I expect college coaches to make a priority to watch during live periods.

One of the strongest wings in the 2027 class, few players use their body to score at the rim better than Bell does. When Bell caught the ball at the rim, he finished off two feet and went into the contact before finding ways to finish around the defense. Many players could learn from watching Bell finish at the rim over taller players. Few players impact winning as much as Bell does right now in the 2027 class and every time I watch Bell I’m never disappointed in his motor on the court.

Bell is workhorse scorer who thrives using his physical frame to plow through opponents. He is a catalyst for points on the offensive end and always finds a way to get his hands on a bucket. He was really assertive on the offensive glass and kept chances going with his rebounding skills. He is a tough matchup because he is tweener position wise. Bell stays within himself when he plays.

Bell came to play today. He showed up and showed out with his play. He did a little bit of it all on the offensive end all day. He knocked down shots from beyond the arc. He then showed off a great back-to-the-basket game that led to a ton of midrange buckets. He is a strong kid who is aggressive.

I loved watching Bell compete on both ends Tuesday morning. One of the highest motors in the 2027 class, Bell simply makes plays that help you win basketball games. A strong frame for his age, Bell was guarding taller players and holding his own in the paint. An excellent rebounder as well, Bell goes hard after loose balls. The big swing skill for Bell will be his perimeter shot and he made a couple time and space 3-pointers. If Bell can do this consistently he will improve his ceiling as a prospect.
