Dari took multiple charges in the game I caught, sacrificing his body for the good of his team. A skilled combo guard, Dari used nice footwork drives with pivots off jump stops to play on balance. Dari is at his best when he’s setting the table for his teammates first as he made some nice passes to cutters for assists in the game I caught and then letting his scoring come within the flow of the offense or in transition off a steal which allowed his team to extend the lead. Talented small college guard prospect who checks a handful of boxes.

Saint Ignatius is one of the best teams in northeast Ohio and it seems like a different guy can hurt you on any given night. On Saturday evening Dari had the hot hand from long distance. A high arcing 3-pointer, Dari had multiple buckets that swished right through the net on its way down. Having a couple of confident ball handlers and shooters is crucial for a Saint Ignatius team that is loaded with size and athleticism on the defensive end of the court.

Saint Ignatius has a nice mix of experience and youth and Dari has gotten valuable experience on a Division I regional championship squad. I’ve gotten to see Dari play at our Prep Hoops Expo and also as a rotation piece for the Wildcats, making plays off the dribble consistently. I like Dari’s change of direction off the dribble as he can attack going both ways. Also showing his ability to shoot the ball, Dari had a sweet pull-up 3-pointer Vs Louisville to end the third quarter. I expect Dari to be a household name in northeast Ohio next season when he plays a more lead role for the Wildcats.

Dari was on team 5 and got a writeup from Shane Garcia for that team but he played one game with team 10 and really stood out so I figured I’d add him to this article too. A creative guard, Dari has a quick change of pace and direction with the ball in his hands. Shifty off the dribble, opposing guards had a lot of trouble keeping Dari out of the paint. On his drives where he didn’t create a ton of space, Dari did a nice job of keeping defenders on his hip then creating contact to get space to shoot at the rim. This is an essential skill for below the rim guards to master and Dari seems pretty advanced at this at such a young age. As a shooter, Dari was another player who missed a couple early open looks and then started knocking down shots. I’m sure I’ll see Dari with Saint Ignatius a few times this winter to further evaluate his perimeter shooting ability.
