Expert Analysis

Curtis has a ton of potential and is a perfect player for the modern-day game. He has great height and length. He moves really well and is a versatile defender. He plays the game with great energy and competitiveness. When he gets the ball around the rim he knows how to finish with good touch. Showed the ability to finish with either hand on either side of the rim. Wish I would’ve seen him get more of an opportunity to showcase his talent.

A prospect I found in July during the live period, Curtis has the size and length to be an impact player in the paint at both ends of the court. Curtis is playing behind some talented bigs at Middletown but during the summer and at the Prep Hoops Sophomore ID camp, he showed impressive flashes against his players his own age. I expect next season to be the breakout year for Curtis with the Middies if he continues to work and develop during the off-season. You can’t teach his size, length and movement skills.

Cale enlisted at 6’7 but has guard skills. He has the looks of a forward but played like a guard during the showcase. He started a game with a pull-up three after he won the tip-off. Not many people can do that. He has great skills and moves so well. He will be a big-time player because he has everything to make him one.

My favorite new name I found from Ohio this weekend, Curtis has a ton of upside down the road. With great height and a solid body, Curtis is tough to stop from getting the ball in the paint. Even with occasional double-teams thrown his way, Curtis still managed to score efficiently when he got in position to shoot. I thought his hands were soft, catching most passes thrown in his direction even when contested. When Curtis gets some continued weight room development to improve his center of gravity, it’ll be even tougher to move him off his spot. Name to track from SW Ohio’s 2027 class.
