I was a fan of the Midwest Flyers CC team that has a handful of small college targets on it. Wicker stood out the most in the game I was able to catch, knocking down some deep 3-pointers off DHO actions. I had always been impressed by Wicker from the mid-range and his basketball IQ but he was making shots from behind the college line on Saturday evening which is not something I’d previously seen him be able to do. Always nice to see players expand on their game after I hadn’t seen him since the Midwest Fall League in Cincinnati back in October. I’d recommend regional small college programs to check out this Midwest Flyers CC team because they have a type of prospect for any small college program.

Another Midwest fall league standout, Wicker was at the Cincinnati league and one of the top weekly performers. Wicker has a strong upper body and makes excellent decisions with the basketball when attacking downhill. When a player is as consistent as Wicker was in the Midwest fall league, that stands out as many players are hot one day and cold the next. Look for Wicker to try and make a statement in the WBL that is filled with college level talent.

The lone standout from each of the first two weeks, Wicker was dominant at the beginning of his teams second contest of the day, helping spring a 21-2 advantage. Wicker was turning defense into offense in an instant with a handful of steals that immediately led to runaway layups. Wicker also had a sweet reverse layup to avoid a rim protector and overall looked like one of the top players in the league for a second straight week. Making the long trip from Celina worth it on a Sunday morning, if you are going to travel that far to play, you better play hard!

I was most impressed by Wicker’s quick first step, able to get past defenders from a triple threat position to get downhill and score. Also an active mover without the basketball, Wicker scored off cuts and in transition getting behind the defense. Showing some defensive impact as well with a nice blocked shot on a drive and Wicker had himself a nice day to begin the fall league.

Wicker got a little nicked up early in the first game and missed a few minutes but came back with a lot of aggressiveness. An efficient scorer in the paint, Wicker scored off euro-step moves, putback layups and and-1 finishes through contact. Really liked seeing Wicker continue to battle on the court and help his team out this Sunday.
