Kolar is a prospect who has always had a lot of natural ability and he seems to be taking that next step this spring with Midwest Basketball Club MHC. Kolar is a shifty wing forward who can put the ball on the deck and score in creative ways at the rim. Always exciting to see the light come on for a prospect who has always been talented, the key for Kolar this spring has been to play through more contact and embrace physicality on both ends of the court. Kolar has certainly grabbed the attention of regional scholarship programs and should be getting a lot of interest between now and the end of July.

A player who seems to get better every time he steps on the floor, Kolar has continued to produce for Midwest Basketball Club MHC at a high level this spring. Doing a better job being tougher and playing through contact, Kolar has the size, length and explosiveness to score consistently at the rim when he gets a head of steam. If Kolar is also knocking down jumpers he becomes an extremely tough player to defend and his confidence seems to improve after each time I watch him. A prospect who is still just scratching the surface of his ability, Kolar is going to look like a very different player a few years from now with continued focus on skill development and in the weight room.

A small forward at the next level that will bring some ability to create off the bounce and utilize wing span on both sides. Rebounding wise sticks around the glass to read misses accordingly. IQ was shown by making a smart tip back pass off an offensive rebound to re-start offense. Finished through contact a couple times as well. Upside continues to be here.

On Saturday I thought Kolar played the best game I’ve seen him play in his career. Kolar had multiple strong finishes in the paint off two feet attacking with his dominant left hand and finishing with it. Most importantly, Kolar forced a couple turnovers with his length and blocked a couple shots. If Kolar continues to play with toughness, he’ll have no trouble attracting scholarship interest with Midwest Basketball Club MHC. The key for Kolar will be building on this performance and doing it consistently the rest of the summer.

Kolar is a wing forward who can space the floor as the lefty is known as a knockdown shooter. Scoring 11 points in a win over Grove City on Friday, Kolar is showing some consistent production at the varsity level for a New Albany team that will contend for a regional title in Division II this season. Also getting the opportunity to play with the ball in his hands during the Midwest fall league, it’s been nice to get more familiar with his game the past few months and watch him grow. A name I’ll be tracking for the next 2 seasons with New Albany.

One of the more interesting 2027 prospects in Columbus, this winter could be a coming out party for Kolar who has all the skills to be one of the top wing forwards in central Ohio. The lefty has length to finish around defenders, makes shots from the outside and is an impressive straight line athlete. Need to see Kolar consistently grab offensive rebounds and impact the game on the stat sheet with points, rebounds and blocks. I’d expect Kolar’s name to be very well known among basketball fans in central Ohio by playoff time.

A wing with a ton of positional size, Kolar stood out to me in June with his high school team but he also impressed with Run As One during the grassroots season. The lefty has a smooth shooting stroke, can attack a closeout and play above the rim. Not only does Kolar have soft touch on jumpers but he also converts floaters at a high percentage as well. Expect Kolar to be a breakout candidate in central Ohio this winter.
