Cox has taken a clear jump since the last time I saw him play with the biggest leaps coming athletically. An explosive athlete off two feet, Cox has a low center of gravity off the dribble and I liked that Cox stayed in attack mode all game long and was a major reason why Chillicothe made a big third quarter push to get the strong traveling supporters to start rocking the Convo. Hoping to see Cox make a leap as a 3-point shooter, development in that skill will make his ability to dribble drive and finish with either hand even tougher to stop next season. While it’s a disappointing end to the season, Chillicothe could be even better next season.

Another southeast Ohio name, Cox is a smooth wing guard who has become a leader on a Chillicothe team that went through some ups and downs last season but could be a team that takes a big step forward into conference title contention alongside Miami Trace and Jackson in the FAC. Cox had a steal and breakaway slam dunk in their season opening win over Bloom Carroll and also made some nice passes out of ball screens. The lefty wants to get to his dominant hand to finish at the rim and does a nice job of using spins and crossovers to get to that point. A name to know in southeast Ohio’s 2027 class.
