Going to create a lot of headway this spring and summer. Will be put into a 1 or 2 man dependent upon program need with length, skill, and athleticism. A bucket getter from all three levels. Comfortable in fast paced setting. Will hit shots with a hand up. His hesitation game and change of speeds allows him to create space and get to spots. Has high end bounce to play above the rim from guard location. Defensively makes his mark applying zero gap pressure. Dynamic 2 way prospect with a continuation of upside from multiple facets.

Bilton really impressed me with his explosive athleticism and pop to his game. One of the bounciest players I saw on Friday, Bilton was flying around and had a baseline drive and layup that I thought he might try to punch on the defender standing under the rim. Bilton also found success just being aggressive getting to the rim either in the half-court or transition settings. Also able to knock down an open perimeter shot, the ball handling and overall skill level is what will be most important for Bilton to prove he can process the game at a college level. Talented 2027 wing guard prospect from northern Kentucky who is on an upward trajectory, I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a lot of inquiries over April and May about his game.

A rangy guard who can play on or off the ball, Bilton has the ability to create havoc on the defensive end. Capable of shooting the gap and getting steals which lead to transition buckets, Braylon could get some schools following him this summer if he continues to grow his game.

Moving into a starting role this season, Bray Bilton stepped in confidently, averaging 18.6 points per game while shooting 51.5% from the field and leading the Pioneers in rebounding with 4.7 per game. He guided the team to 16 wins, a 32nd District championship, and a trip to the 8th Region tournament. Bilton earned 32nd District tournament MVP honors, was named to the All-8th Region team, and received NKBBCA Division I All-Conference recognition. He consistently showed the ability to take over games and score when his team needed it most.

Bilton does it all for Simon Kenton and is one of the better Juniors in the always loaded 8th region. Bray has a big wingspan that he uses to cause serious problems for opponents when he plays on top of their 3-2 zone. Shooting 41% from range, Bilton is starting to check every box as a potential recruit at the scholarship level.

I liked what I saw from Bilton as a wing guard who moved like an athlete on both ends of the court. With the length to impact the game defensively, Bilton had one really impressive block and physically has the upside to consistently generate defensive stocks. Making strides as a shooter, Bilton right now can knock down a shot if he’s left open on the perimeter. Bilton also has impressive vertical athleticism as he was challenging players at the rim and finishing through rim protectors. His best move of the day came when he caught the ball on the wing and took a jab step one way and immediately attacked going the other direction to get to the foul line after the defense hacked him from behind. Those types of quick twitch moves will be what I’ll be looking for him to do consistently as he matures as a prospect.

Bilton is a knock down shooter and tough defender. His deep range and quick release stresses the defense. He pressures the ball and contains opposing players on the perimeter. He delivered accurate passes to open teammates as well.

A thin 5’11” guard from Simon Kenton High School in Kentucky, Bilton averaged 16.5 points per game while leading his Northern Kentucky Legends 2027 team to a 4-0 record. He displayed some real quickness with the ball in the open floor, shiftiness playing off of ballscreens in the half court, and was a creative finisher at the end of his drives. Putting up those sort of numbers while contributing to winning all of the games certainly lands you a spot on the All-Tournament First Team.
