McGeady is a perfect fit for the Bombers system because he can score off cuts, BLOB plays, attack closeouts and hit pick and pop jumpers. St Xavier got a tough win in overtime over Brebeuf Jesuit without a handful of their rotation players who are preparing for a football state championship game this weekend. McGeady has put on strength since I last saw him over the summer and was very efficient at the rim using both hands to finish. McGeady slipped a screen for a lefty finish that was his best individual play of the night in my eyes. Add in a couple strong rebounds and making passes within the offense and McGeady checks a handful of boxes for a prospect who is also getting strong looks as a pitcher on the diamond.

A multi-sport athlete, McGeady has the frame and length that translates on both the hardwood and the diamond. With long arms and strides, McGeady is a versatile defender who can play a variety of roles. McGeady has one of the strongest arms in the 2027 class as a pitcher and that’s not surprising when you see the power he plays with as a basketball player as well. McGeady can also space the floor as a pick and pop option and fits in well with a St Xavier squad that wants to wear you down with their physicality.

I was impressed by a new look Bomber squad thanks to their size and defensive unity and toughness. McGeady checks those boxes as a bigger wing forward who can handle it, pass within the offense and use his size to rebound at both ends of the court. I also was impressed by the frame McGeady has, with a stronger build than a lot of other players at his size with the play-style that he uses.

A baseball standout, McGeady stood out for a Cincinnati St Xavier squad that should be one of the best teams in southwest Ohio this winter. With prototypical size and length from the wing forward position, McGeady looks like an athlete. Combine that with a couple hustle plays and interior finishes and McGeady is a multi-sport athlete to watch from Cincinnati.
