had a really nice weekend going 5-1 and winning the gold bracket for the 16 U age group. One of our other writers Shane Garcia spotlighted a few of their players but I wanted to also show some love to

, one of the more interesting stretch 4’s in Ohio’s 2027 class. Murray was making shots from the outside and using his length to disrupt layups at the rim and grab rebounds. I liked the experience Murray got on a younger Saint Edward team last season and he should be ready to play a more prominent role the next two seasons as the Eagles look to get back to the top of northeast Ohio basketball.

A young Saint Edward team has taken some bumps early in the season but with pieces like Murray in the system, I expect the Eagles to continue to improve this season and get back near the top of northeast Ohio next year. I was impressed with the skill and IQ Murray showed me during the summer as he’s able to move without the basketball and finish at the rim. Murray also has a frame that should be able to add muscle as he continues to mature and fill out. I expect Murray to be a well-known name across northeast Ohio by the time his Junior season rolls around.

Murray is a player that has a high ceiling and a high floor. I think he has a great feel and IQ for the game. He plays the game the right way and is always in the right spot on both ends of the floor. He defends well and can guard multiple positions. He can put the ball in the basket when he is needed on the offensive end.

One of the most storied programs in Ohio, I caught Saint Edward for the first time since January in search of some new names. Murray was the prospect who caught my eye the most with a good frame and size for his age. Scoring the ball in the paint efficiently with easy layups thanks to ball movement from their guards, Murray made himself available to catch and finish. I also was impressed when Murray made a backdoor cut to score after a dribble drive by a guard teammate. With his size and skill, Murray looks like a very intriguing prospect who could standout at multiple sports for the Eagles.
