Stanley brings true shot making and perimeter value to the offensive side of the ball. Knock down catch and shoot 3 guy from various actions within flow. Can go off the bounce into shot with confidence. Sees the floor well on the handle. Makes necessary pitch-ahead passes in transition. Liked his ability make a heavy impact from the wing spot and produce efficient plays.
One of the top shooters in central Ohio’s 2028 class, Stanley can light it up from long distance. I got to see Stanley a handful of times at the Midwest Fall League and see his growth throughout the season and see him build chemistry with his New Albany teammates before the season started. A high academic prospect, Stanley should be on high academic small college radars once they get around to recruiting the class of 2028 seriously. In the meantime, I’ll be looking for Stanley to show improvement as an athlete and defender because I already know his offensive game has major strengths.
I’ve wrote about Stanley a few times now and most of the time I’m discussing his elite 3-point shooting ability. On Saturday morning, Stanley was doing some new things I haven’t seen before. Being more aggressive playing through contact, blocking shots, making nice passes through traffic. If Stanley can consistently impact the game besides just being a shooter that will help him make a positive impact for his team even when shots aren’t falling.
It was a big day for the New Albany trio as Stanley did a nice job playing off Mattucci and helping his star senior rack up the assists as Stanley knocks down catch and shoot 3-pointers as well as anybody in central Ohio’s 2028 class. Late in the game, Stanley got a clutch offensive rebound to help secure a victory. I know Stanley can make shots at an elite level but hustle plays like that offensive rebound are what I want to see more of this winter.
There was a point in the day where I literally wrote down ‘Stanley doesn’t miss from 3’. Of course Stanley did miss a couple times throughout the rest of the day but the fact it seemed like every shot he took was going in for a majority of the showcase was unbelievable. New Albany runs an excellent offensive system and their deliberate pace of play is tough for some teams to adjust to, Stanley should fit in well with their system and provide elite floor spacing. Name to know in central Ohio, Stanley will be a priority small college target if he continues to work at his game.
Stanley had one of the best stretches I’ve seen at the fall league when he scored maybe five or six baskets in quick succession. Able to score on the fast break, knock down spot-up shots and attack closeouts, Stanley has a lot of offensive talent. Will likely be a name many fans across central Ohio know about in a few years.
