I have always liked Curry-Hill’s game and he seems to have elevated it a little more over the last calendar year. Nick has great size for a point guard and could/should be the primary ball handler for Butler this year. He was impressive on Sunday and earned a spot on my top performers list for the camp.

When 5 on 5 play started, Nick came to life. He had a sequence early in the first game where he got into the paint and hit a runner then came back down and hit a catch and shoot wing three the next possession. Curry-Hill had waited his turn at Male the last couple of years but opted to transfer to Butler for his last two years. If he continues down the path he’s on now, I think Nick can be a big time difference maker for Butler this season.

Nick has a lot of potential as a college prospect in the near future but he’s yet to showcase his skills at the varsity level. He’s a lengthy guard that can operate with patience as a facilitator and defend his position at a high level. After transferring from Male to Butler this past June, he could be on the horizon of a breakout junior campaign this coming season. Expect him to use his physical tools to score on multiple levels and impact all facets of the game in 5-on-5 play this weekend.

Curry-Hill makes the move from Male to Butler for his Junior season and should have the opportunity to play with the ball in his hands more. Nicholas has good size at the PG spot and plays with the ability to change speeds. Probably behind right now due to lack of playing time at Male the last two years, Curry-Hill could be a true breakout player in the 6th region.

It’s a testament to the depth that Male has right now that Curry-Hill can be overlooked. One of my favorite sleepers in this class, Curry-Hill isn’t a widely known name yet and is likely a year away from being a starter for the Bulldogs. Nicholas has the physical tools to be a two way impact player and would be a starter for most schools in Louisville. I think he projects very favorably over the rest of his career.

Male has an absolutely loaded class in 2028 but Curry-Hill gets overlooked at times. That may not be the case for much longer. Nicholas is a steady PG who is evolving as a playmaker and has a lot of long term potential. Don’t be surprised if you start to hear his name mentioned with the rest of the best in the 7th region’s 2028 class.

Curry-Hill is a tough guard who is primarily a freshman and JV player right now but will eventually find a big role for Coach Haworth and the Bulldogs. Quick at getting into the paint, Nicholas has the ability to finish through contact or get to the rim and get himself to the foul line. File Curry-Hill’s name away for future reference.

Admittedly, I didn’t see enough of Curry-Hill to be blown away on Saturday but I’d like to see more due to his genetics. Most won’t remember the name Tre Hill from 2018 but he’s Curry-Hill’s older brother and was a very talented player. Interested to see if little brother ends up more like older brother.
