Urbana was a bit of a surprise team this season with all three of their leading scorers projected to return next season, the Hillclimbers could be even better in 2026-27. Dixson finished second on the team in scoring as the elite shooter attempted 148 3-pointers this season and converted over 47% of them. In Urbana’s playoff loss to Wyoming, Dixon hit a couple shots from behind the college line, showing his elite perimeter shot-making ability. Hoping to see Dixon continue to fill out his frame and hit the weight room this off-season, if he combines his perimeter shooting ability with a strong base on drives then he could see his scoring and efficiency on 2-point shots go through the roof next season.

One of the top shooters in southwest Ohio’s 2028 class, Dixon hit four 3-pointers for the Hillclimbers and was forcing Wyoming to face guard him off the ball. Dixon hit two from behind the college line on Sunday and played with confidence against one of the top defensive teams in the state. With a majority of their rotation returning next season, I’d be surprised if Urbana doesn’t win a district title next season.

Urbana plays a fun style of basketball where they really look to score the basketball with a trio of guys averaging double figures per game. Dixon is their most skilled player and he ended the game with two and-1 finishes to turn a slight deficit into a double-digit victory in the final three minutes. I loved that Dixon was confident attacking and finishing with his left hand. A money set shooter as well, Dixon usually makes the defense pay when he’s left alone from deep. After seeing him playing against older competition in the Midwest Fall League, it was nice to see Dixon against small town competition where he was able to show off more of his on ball ability.
