I’ve been so impressed with the 2027 backcourt of Slavens and Gavin Wicker Gavin Wicker 6'1" | SG/PG Celina | 2027 State OH , a duo that have consistently impacted winning basketball. Slavens was handling pressure well by moving off the ball and making quick decisions as a passer. Slavens also knocked down a couple corner 3-pointers and overall played with a lot of confidence on Sunday by not looking rattled by a faster speed of the game.

Slavens played in the fall league last year and once again had an impressive showing on Sunday. Slavens made simple shots off the catch and moved without the ball to generate open looks. When the defense collapsed Slavens can make the simple pass. After scoring 11 PPG on varsity as a sophomore, I expect even more from Slavens who could form one of the better small school duos with Brayden Kidd Brayden Kidd 6'1" | SF Dayton Christian | 2026 OH this season.

Slavens played with a high IQ offensively, moving without the ball and making himself available with cuts. Playing off two feet Slavens was able to decide if he wanted to shoot or pass it out to a teammate. Also able to knock down a wide open shot, Slavens stretched the floor. As a slasher, Slavens liked the scoop layup shot type.

Slavens is a jittery point guard. Everything he did was aggressive. Hunts shots and can knock it down from outside. He played well in an up-and-down tempo, adding some throw-ahead assists for easy buckets. Quick. Confident.
