Offseason Outlook: Big-Time Transfers

Across Maryland, DC, and Virginia there were huge movements throughout the high school hoops. This article will serve as another quick guide to keep up with the big moves over the long offseason. Let's dive in!   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Mt. Zion Reloaded</h2>   Mt. Zion Prep has retooled their squad this offseason and now look to defend their EPL League crown after winning the championship last season over Highland.    Now that their 2025 class has moved on, the Warriors now look to their next wave of talent with a lot of movement across the board.    [player_tooltip player_id='1782591' first='Jasiah' last='Cannady'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1956028' first='Khalib' last='Norcome'] made huge noise as local and early summer transfers. Norcome returns to Lanham after spending the early stage of his career with the Warriors. Now returning as a more complete player with D1 attention, he and Cannady look to have their best year on the national stage as the face of Mt. Zion   The Warriors also added some key pieces in the interior, grabbing [player_tooltip player_id='2407095' first='Zion' last='Green'], [player_tooltip player_id='2885103' first='Abdul' last='Rashid Issah'], and  [player_tooltip player_id='2894070' first='Quinn' last='Wilson']. Their backcourt is sured up as well with some moves both locally and out of state. [player_tooltip player_id='2353588' first='Johnsen' last='Kennedy'], [player_tooltip player_id='2625798' first='Luke' last='Arulefela'], Isaac Yohann Monthe, [player_tooltip player_id='2194952' first='Enrico' last='Purnell'], and many more have made the move to Mt. Zion. They are primed for a big season behind a new and fresh squadron of big-time prospects.   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Bethel Loads Up</h2>   BeThe1 (Bethel) Academy spent the summer building up chemistry and flow together as they head into the new year following some big-time moves.   Bethel added two of DC's top guards [player_tooltip player_id='1782663' first='Devin' last='Toatley'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2353569' first='Makiah' last='Gray'] into the mix to man the backcourt. These PG's will likely be the featured guards through the season as they have meshed well so far this summer. This major addition alone added a lot of anticipation for this Virginia-based program.   Younger additions like [player_tooltip player_id='1548525' first='Caron' last='Perez'], [player_tooltip player_id='2640022' first='Colby' last='Murphy'], [player_tooltip player_id='2875583' first='Quron' last='Sheikh'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2760984' first='Timothy' last='Allen Crank'] help sure up the loaded roster and adds some true depth off the bench. The Blazers' new moves amongst players and staff this offseason will have them testing their talent against the cream of the crop in VA.   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Riverdale Baptist Looking Strong</h2>   The Riverdale Baptist Crusaders have re-energized and tuned up their roster for the 2025-26 season and are looking stronger then ever! They added pieces to cover all areas and enjoyed one of the best summers across the DMV as a team and also individually.   Although losing a couple big-time names to the portal, Riverdale responded by adding prospects from all over the area. The backcourt is restored and fits seamlessly with E. McLaughlin at the 1.   [player_tooltip player_id='2629848' first='Kyle' last='Logan'] made the move from Good Counsel and carries a big scoring role as he sees more of an off-ball role. The backline is firm as [player_tooltip player_id='2548905' first='Angelo' last='Cunningham'] comes in from Gwynn Park as the interior force, blocking shots and scoring inside.
