Jackson was impressive Friday evening despite Coolidge coming up short against a tough Archbishop John Carroll (PA) team. The 5-foot-10 lead guard is dynamic both a scorer and playmaker. When he’s on an island, he can create space with step backs or an array of crossovers to get his defender on their heels before letting it fly from three. When he looks to attack, his quick twitch ability makes it easy to gain advantages on his matchup and establish paint touches to help create shots for others. In this particular game, Jackson was more aggressive as a scorer with his team trailing and did a nice job drawing contact on drives where he went 9-of-12 from the free-throw line. He led Coolidge with 29 points including four threes. Jackson received two offers from Virginia Union (DII) and Washington Adventist (NAIA) respectively. He should be on radars of programs at those levels moving forward.

Jackson Jr. was a fun watch despite Coolidge coming up short against a good Archbishop John Carroll (PA) group. It was the type of performance that will certainly boost his ranking in the next update as he’s one that has always slept a bit under the radar due to his size. What he lacks in height, Jackson Jr. makes up for with advanced twitch, an endless bag of counters off the bounce, and supreme confidence in gaining separation for his own looks. He isn’t a tunnel vision driver, but for this Coolidge group Jackson will need to be aggressive as a scorer to keep them in contention with elite competition. He showed he’s well equipped and in my opinion, should be on the radars of DII and JuCo programs of all levels. He’s the type of guard who would thrive in the right JuCo situation. Jackson finished with 29 points, three rebounds, and three steals.

-Jackson is a really, really shifty point guard that is difficult to stay in front of in the halfcourt because of his change of speed and advanced handle. Jackson is great at creating angles in the halfcourt by attacking the rim or dribbling to the elbows or wings to rise up for a pull-up jumper off the bounce. Even when the defender is seemingly doing their job to keep him in front— Jackson uses a spin move or inside out crossover to break free and create easy looks in the paint. The balance and consistency on his perimeter shooting adds in a dimension that makes it difficult to press up to attempt to chop his momentum and keep him out of the paint. Have really liked the progression in his passing reads off the bounce as he’s proven that he can slip a variety of passes (pocket, skip, hammer bounce passes) through the tiniest crack in the defense. Should make an impact in new threads with Coolidge.

-Jackson was probably the most difficult guard to stay in front of in his first tournament in new threads with Cardozo. Jackson understands angles and sees the help coming to race past them to turn the corner and create an advantage situation for his team. Jackson is especially dynamic in transition, showing how adept he is at drawing fouls or delivering well-timed passes to teammates for easy layups or open perimeter jumpers. Jackson’s pull-up jumper is also much more smooth and quicker, allowing him to score with range from all three levels of the floor. Want to see him use his quickness more often at the defensive end of the floor as well as see him leverage his speed and size to fight over ball screens to disrupt offensive flow on a more consistent basis. Should be one of the best newcomers in the DCIAA this season.

Since making the transfer to Cardozo, Kevin has been on a mission. He’s been putting the Clerks on after a championship run the previous season. Kevin can get to his spots with ease as he is always the quickest player on the court. Plays well in the pick-and-roll whether finding his teammate rolling or getting his own shot off after finding space. Kevin does a good job of getting into spaces on the floor where he can force the defense to shift. Shoots the ball with deep range that makes his game unpredictable. Also a ball-hawk defensively that can press full-court and fly around in a zone-coverage D.

Electrifying guard prospect that starts at guard for a well-versed Regional PGCA team. Kevin was a consistent performer for New World, impressing all summer long. Continued that momentum strong into the 2025 high school season and has played well for a highly-competitive squad. No shortage of speed and quickness in Jackson Jr, and he balances the two well when making his moves to the rim. Hard for defenders to keep up with him as he has endless energy, picking up from full court and running each fastbreak at full capacity. Plays with a chip on his shoulder and competes hard, leaving scouts with a great impression when he leaves the floor.

-Jackson was locked in from start to finish in this one, attacking the paint with reckless abandon to score or dish off to teammates for easy buckets around the basket. Jackson showed the touch in a blow-by drive across the paint to finish with some mustard on a finger roll layup high off the glass. Jackson navigated screens well throughout the day to curl around side ball screens come off flat to drag the help defender to him before finding an open teammate. Finished several layups in traffic with the weak hand (left) high off the window and wasn’t afraid of contact before or after the shot.
