Slated to man the controls at The Patrick School (NJ), Knight is one of the quickest guards from the point of attack that I’ve seen in the last year or two. The twitch that he has allows him to change directions like a water bug and that quickness was too much for any defender to keep him at bay once he put his head down to get to the rim. If they happened to anticipate his first move, Knight countered with impressive body control and somehow gained another advantage to into a driving lane before finishing the job at the cup with either hand. He maintained floor vision if his attack started by the half court line and when the backline of the defense rotated to halt his clear driving lane to the rim, Knight zipped skip passes to shooters in the weak side corner.

-Knight looked good in new threads with Durant after competing on the P32 circuit, using a dynamic first step to blow past his matchup and score at the rim. Love the pace that he plays with attacking closeouts from the wing and he showed a variety of different euro steps, pro hops, and spin moves to the lay the ball in off the backboard. As he continues to prove his value as a paint touch maven that fills it up efficiently with a steady cascade of layups in the key, I want to see him hit the near side corner and bigs on drag screens to force the help to stay home and score at an even more efficient clip in the halfcourt with decreased help side digs to block his trips to the rim. Loved B2B plays from him midway through the 2H with a gorgeous lob in transition to a streaking teammate at the rim for a 2-handed dunk and a sprint back into the play to swat away a layup attempt from behind at the basket.

Knight did an excellent job running the show for The Patrick School, displaying the poise and feel of a true floor general. He always seemed to know where his teammates were on the floor and consistently connected with them for quality scoring opportunities. His court vision and decision-making allowed him to keep the offense flowing while putting teammates in positions to succeed. Knight also showed that he can score in a variety of ways, proving to be more than just a facilitator. He frequently touched the paint, putting pressure on the defense and creating opportunities for himself and others. His aggressive approach led to multiple trips to the foul line, where he was able to add efficient points to his stat line. With his combination of playmaking, scoring versatility, and ability to control the game, Knight is a prospect who should continue to garner attention from low-major division one programs.

-Knight played a big role in an undefeated weekend for his group, serving as both an effective scorer and play-maker for his team in the half court. Knight found opportunities to create for himself off the bounce as a jump shooter at the elbows or in the paint with 1-legged floaters. He’s consistently finding more and more opportunities to execute a Steve Nash drive along the baseline to force helpers to take their eyes off of his teammates and is using his scoring gravity to hit his man on the slip for easy buckets at the rim. He really turned up in the 2H with multiple AND1 layups through contact in transition, floaters off the window going to his right, and even took it C2C on several players to convert a defensive rebound into points at the opposite end for his team. If he can continue to improve the efficiency of his dribbles while processing the different moving parts in each action, I can see him continuing to take real strides in his development as a dual threat PG.

He’s a well-rounded, high-IQ player who makes the right play more times than not. He forces turnovers, rebounds well for the position, and shoots the ball well. He plays well off other ball handlers and is capable of running the show on his own, making him versatile in ways he can be used offensively. On defense, his center of gravity, lateral quickness, and knack for pressuring ballhandlers getting into their legs make him capable of guarding guys larger than his height.

Though he has been the most consistent prospects in the league, you can clearly watch Knight has that “it” factor in his game with fluidity, understanding, and overall feel for the game; it looks smooth early on. Knight combines strong IQ, athleticism, and positional size to impact the game in multiple ways, rebounding, forcing turnovers, and consistently making the right play.
