A repeat junior by way of Southern Maryland Christian, momentum has been building for Patton throughout the spring and summer leading to a debut within the top 25 of our updated rankings. Patton is a versatile wing with natural scoring instincts and evolving athleticism who began to percolate this spring on the Made Hoops circuit before putting together a breakout summer on the EYBL with Team Durant. He’s followed that up with further standout showings on the camp circuit, showing his production his able to travel across settings against increasing levels of competition. With an extra year to finetune his skillset and hone in further on the growth of his jump shot, Patton should be the next in a long line of D1 products to emerge from Phelps over the past decade-plus.

Patton turned in a high level weekend thanks to his non-stop motor and athleticism. The talented combo forward was effective as a lob threat as well as a slasher and showcased his range as a shooter to boot. In the modern game, Patton can slide in seamlessly as a small ball four man who can slide up or down in the lineup depending on what’s needed from him. On a Phelps team that can use a player like him, Patton appears poised for a big junior campaign.

Patton footwork and patience around the basket was very impressive. He steps out and shoots the J if needed or uses his size/ frame to finish at the rim. Aggressive on the boards on both ends of the floor and run the floor with ease.  Timothy with his all-around skill set is obvious. We are talking about a 6-7 prospect that is fluid, shows vision, and impacts the game in several ways. Can plug him in multiple situations. First off, he competes for every rebound. Patton was a prospect that I wasn’t familiar with before Gov. Challenge and he left an impression on me as a potential long-term player for schools to monitor. His frame has the look as one that will fill out nicely once he gets to college and while his overall skill set remains raw, there are indicators that with continued improvement he’ll become a force for head coach Hillary Haley. In a tough matchup against Seneca Valley to claim their bracket title, Patton faced a solid 2026 big and did his job well finishing with 10 points (4/5 FG) and grabbing 7 rebounds. This SMCA team has plenty of talent in the backcourt and on the wing, so Patton’s job is to be efficient with his looks around the rim and be willing to do some of the dirty work that may not show up on the box score, but impact winning. He did that in their two-game slate with good energy.
