Ari Rosenfeld | Prep Hoops Scout
Coming off the bench for a talented Difference Makers Elite group, Jackson was vital toward getting his team back into the game and establishing momentum after a sluggish start. The sophomore guard came in with immediate energy and confidence, showing his ability to be effective both on and off the ball. Jackson was able to create his own shot off the dribble while also spacing the floor reliably as a shooter off the catch, knocking down three timely 3s on his way to 11 points. His game continues to mature as he figures to begin attracting D1 attention in the near future.

The other member of Cristo Rey’s young starting backcourt, Jackson also continues to show positive signs of growth in his development. Stepping into a starting role after an up-and-down year off the bench as a repeat freshman, Jackson got the scoring started with an early 3 before settling into a role as more of a playmaker for others off the dribble. He used his size and polished handle to work into the lane while keeping his head up to kick out to shooters or drop off to his bigs for easy looks inside. Jackson also had some nice moments defensively, a clear point of emphasis from the Blue Pride staff. It wasn’t his most explosive scoring effort, but nonetheless Jackson showed his worth as an eventual D1 prospect in the backcourt.

This crafty point guard did a tremendous job of playing with poise and controlling the tempo of games. On half-court possessions, Jackson executed change of pace dribbles to get to his spots for mid-range jumpers and floaters. He also did a fantastic job of attacking the paint and then live dribble passing to teammates for easy buckets. Jackson is unique in that he will not hesitate to use a few back dribble to create space for his next move. When he was left open on the perimeter, Jackson proved to be an extremely accurate three-point shooter. Jackson piloted the fast break for scores and assists too.
