Quick guard who will utilize jab steps and fluid footwork frequently to offset his defender and free up space on his drives to the rim. Can score at all three levels, hitting fadeaways from the midrange, converting on catch-and-shoot deep three-point attempts, and step-back threes as well. Makes crisp reads in transition and in the half court, zipping passes to cutters and lobbing it up to his teammates at the rim. Plays with good pace and knows when to take a deep shot or attack downhill.

Perez is a strong guard who has delivered several impressive scoring outbursts this season. He is a capable three-level scorer, but is currently most comfortable attacking the paint and producing from the midrange. His physicality and downhill style make him a consistent pressure point for opposing defenses.

He attacks the rim fearlessly, always ready to get downhill. He has a solid handle and good vision; he sees the court well. His frame helps him absorb contact when driving, and he’s got good range and a nice floater in his bag. What really stands out is his defense; he’s only a sophomore, but he’s right in your chest, making it tough to get anything going.
