-Green was a model of consistency over the course of the season, turning in double-double performances as a rangy W/F with a throwback offensive game most effective 18′ and in from the basket. Green can post up at the elbow or pivot his way to the paint to score high percentage short jumpers or convert his positioning into trips to the free throw line that cut into opposing front court depth by getting his matchups and their backups into foul trouble. Mt Zion National relied on his ability to produce at a consistently-high level at the offensive end while making strides as a help-side defender that—over the course of the season—improved his defensive rotations to contest or block shots around the basket at a much higher level. With the fluidity of his movement as a prospect that now stands at 6’9, he has nice long-term upside to development into a valuable switchable forward prospect that can show/switch onto guards on the perimeter to defend on an island without fouling.

Green maintains his No. 1 status as he’s been one of the staples for Lafayette Dublin’s Mt. Zion group on the Grind Session. His blend of size, skill and versatility all go into making him not only a productive prospect in the now, but one who offers an intriguing ceiling long-term. His play throughout December resulted in picking up a couple of new offers from P5 programs such as NC State and Oklahoma after proving himself against some of the top-ranking high school programs in the country. As the season progresses, it’s safe to assume that his skillset will continue to evolve and more programs will look into investing in the former Camden High School product.

Among the highest-ranked prospects in the entire event, Green took some time to get going in a Tuesday afternoon showcase matchup but put it all together in a huge second half performance. Green scored 15 of his 19 points after halftime in a narrow loss to nationally-ranked Dream City Christian (AZ), proving to be a walking mismatch for whatever defender was thrown his way. The Philly native was resilient attacking the basket and finishing in traffic, consistently finding windows around the rim after creating his own shot via faceup opportunities. He was pragmatic in picking out mismatches and attacking them efficiently while also keeping his head up as a playmaker for others. When Green has it all clicking like that, there’s a short list of forwards nationally who can contend with his blend of size and skill.

finished Mt. Zion’s game yesterday with a respectable stat line of 21 points and six rebounds. He shot 50 percent from the floor, going 9-of-18 overall and showed off his offensive versatility throughout despite a tough loss to a really talented CIA Bella Vista (AZ) team. Bella Vista had a few tenacious rim protectors and Green did a nice job of switching up his approach and doing damage from the mid-range when he didn’t have a clear path to the rim for lay-ups or dunks.

It was a tough trip down south for Mt. Zion as they went 0-2 playing against stout competition in Prolific Prep (FL) and Huntington Expressions Prep (WV). Green had his better showing when the lights were bright against the No. 1 team in the country as the versatile forward led the Warriors with 27 points and six rebounds. Green was effective on catches out on the perimeter or in semi-transition getting downhill and finding driving lanes to maneuver his way to rim and force the ref’s whistle. In game with such high-level talent, it was good to see Green answer the call and step in as a consistent offensive threat for his team.

Green had a so/so showing in Friday’s win as Cannady did much of the heavy lifting from an offensive production standpoint, but Saturday the No. 1 ranking player in the 2027 MD/DC rankings showed his worth along with his teammate

as he followed with 19 points and eight rebounds. His blend of size, skill, and fluidity caused major problems in the mid-post in face-up scenarios. Green also flashed some consistent grab-and-go ability for stretches throughout both wins.

Green makes his move to the DMV area with a splash as he debuts at No. 1 overall. Our recent viewings of Green further cemented his top status as he brings a unique blend of size, ability and upside that tends to pay dividends in the long-term. He’ll be the focal point of Mt. Zion Prep’s National team playing on The Grind Session and currently holds offers from the likes of Maryland, Syracuse and Villanova among other programs.

-We have a new #1 in the cycle for the second update in a row, with Green setting up shot in the DMV at Mt Zion after a productive year at Camden in NJ. Green can put the ball on the floor, finishes well in the paint, can create his own shot, and has a chance to develop into a pretty high level defender. His lateral movement skills and quickness have taken a huge step forward and raise both the ceiling as well as his floor as a prospect. He will lead the way for the National HS team on the Grind Session circuit this year.

Coming into the weekend, we had a good feel that Green would position himself to push for the No. 1 spot in the updated 2027 rankings that will release tomorrow. The 6-foot-9 forward only solidified those thoughts with his output on Saturday. He brings an intriguing combination of size, skill, and fluidity for a prospect of his size, but in the more recent viewings since the mid-summer, Green has polished the smaller aspects of his game that will ultimately separate him. The handle still needs tightening, but he showed comfort in pushing the ball in transition and making plays off the bounce consistently. When he gets to the rim, he uses patience and footwork to create angles for himself to score. In face-ups, Green didn’t hesitate to pull the trigger over the outstretched arm of his defender with no change in his release to sink mid-range jumpers. He’s more dialed in defensively and an active presence on the glass as you’d expect.
