Continue ReadingClosing out the 2023-24 season’s high school basketball coverage with a look at the top players from Class 4A all the way down to Class B. With over 300 teams in the “Small School” classifications it was tough to narrow the teams down to only a handful of players. With that in mind and the wide scope of teams from all over the state, each team will have 13 players each. Which lines up with the number of scholarships Divison One programs have to give out for basketball. Also, team success and seniority often served as tiebreakers.
Third Team
Aidan Clark Aidan Clark 6'6" | SF Inola | 2026 State OK , 6’6 Sophomore Wing, Inola – One of the more unique players in the state, Clark is a bruising forward with a great feel to the game as a passer. He was a key part of an Inola team that finished a game away from State in 4A.
Bryson Buckingham Bryson Buckingham 6'1" | PG Casady | 2024 State OK , 6’2 Senior Guard, Casady – Buckingham was one of the top scorers in Class 3A, averaging 20 a game with the ability to pull up off the dribble or get to the rim. He also grabbed 7 rebounds a game.
Kobe Freeman Kobe Freeman 5'11" | PG Purcell | 2025 State OK , 5’10 Junior Guard, Purcell – The skilled lead guard was one of the best scorers in Oklahoma, averaging 25 points a game for the Dragons.
Devon Haney Devon Haney 5'10" | SG North Rock Creek | 2024 State OK , 6’0 Senior Guard, North Rock Creek – A pure shooter from deep, Haney scored a team high nearly 17 a game for the 4A semifinalist Cougars. He had explosive scoring games from beyond the arc all season long.
Nate Hidalgo Nate Hidalgo 6'5" Hooker | 2025 State OK , 6’7 Junior Forward, Hooker – The junior led the Bulldogs in scoring with over 12 points game. His ability to be a physical inside presence, with a mid-range game was a key part in Hooker reaching the Class 2A Semifinals.
Devon MacCollister Devon MacCollister 6'2" | PG Ada | 2024 State OK , 6’2 Senior Guard, Ada – The smooth lead guard has one of the more complete scoring packages in Oklahoma, which he showed all playoff long with clutch plays for an Ada team that reach Area.
Titus Miller Titus Miller 6'6" | SF Catoosa | 2024 State OK , 6’6 Senior Wing, Catoosa – Athletic and a strong shooter, Miller stuffed the stat sheet with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists for Catoosa.
Jacob Ojeda, 6’1 Senior Guard, Bridge Creek – A sharpshooter who torched the nets all winter long, Ojeda led the Bobcats to one of their better seasons in recent memory, with a trip to Class 4A Area.
John Paul Sumo John Paul Sumo 5'10" | PG Idabel | 2024 State OK , 5’9 Senior Guard, Inola – An electric and shifty smaller guard with range, he averaged 18 a game for an Inola squad that reached the Class 3A State Tournament.
Jakobi Tallent Jakobi Tallent 6'1" | CG Anadarko | 2025 State OK 6’1 Junior Guard, Andarko – Tallent averaged 12.5 points, helping the Indians back to the Class 4A State Tournament for the first time since 2019.
Shane Threadgil Shane Threadgil 6'1" | CG Idabel | 2025 OK 6’2 Senior Guard Inola – Threadgil scored 17 a game, while grabbing 6 rebounds a game as a skilled and physical guard for one of the best teams in Class 3A.
Aiden Todd Aiden Todd 5'11" | CG Bethany | 2025 State OK 5’10 Junior Guard, Bethany – A crafty guard with range from three, Todd broke the 1,000 point mark for his career. More than just a shooter, he’s a threat off the bounce and a quality setup man as well.
Jaden Williams Jaden Williams 6'2" | SG Douglass | 2025 State OK , 6’3 Senior Guard, Douglass – Williams averaged double figures for the 4A Champions, as a tough and hard nosed “3 and D guard”. The junior would likely have been on a star/featured player for the vast majority of programs from the small school ranks.
Jackson Welch Jackson Welch 6'7" | SG Inola | 2024 State OK 6’7 Senior Wing, Inola – A versatile senior prospect, Welch has one of the purest shooting forms in Oklahoma. He averaged 15 points and 44% from three for the Longhorns.
Honorable Mention
Hunter Arnold, 6’0 Senior Guard, Calumet – A double digit scorer, the senior lead guard helped Calumet to 31 wins as they finished runner ups in Class B.
Amari Barrett Amari Barrett 6'0" | CG Millwood | 2026 State OK , 6’2 Sophomore Guard, Millwood – Incredibly motor and improving athleticism defined a big growth year for Barrett. In his first year of varsity action he was a consistent for Millwood during their run to the Class 3A State Title game.
CJ Benard CJ Benard 6'4" | CG Varnum | 2025 State OK , 6’4 Junior Guard, Varnum – A big time scorer and athlete, Benard showed off great range from three during a run to the Class B State Tournament for Varnum.
Cooper Bradley Cooper Bradley 6'3" | SG Bishop McGuinness | 2025 State OK , 6’3 Junior Guard, Bishop McGuinness – Bradley has a pure jumper from distance, averaging was a key part of an Irish squad that made noised when they reached Area in Class 4A
Jarren Cargil Jarren Cargil 6'3" | SG Liberty | 2024 State OK , 6’2 Senior Guard, Liberty – The athletic senior was a stat sheet stuffer with averages of 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the Tigers.
Trayden Chambers Trayden Chambers 6'7" | PF Dale | 2025 State OK , 6’7 Junior Forward, Dale – The big man in the middle for Dale, he nearly averaged double figures while his impact as a rugged rebounder and skilled forward spoke louder than. the state sheet with the Pirates.
Bryce Cowns Bryce Cowns 6'1" | PG McLoud | 2025 State OK , 6’1 Junior Guard, McLoud – An athletic two way impact guard, Cowns enjoyed a strong year for a McLoud team that reached Area in Class 4A.
Tre Crosslen Tre Crosslen 6'3" | SF McLain | 2024 State OK , 6’3 Wing, McLain – A versatile wing, Crosslen finished his high school career strongly at McLain as a double digit scorer for the Titans
Chance Davis Chance Davis 6'3" | CG Millwood | 2025 State OK , 6’3 Junior Guard, Millwood – Davis is a quality shooter, who’s maturing all around game was a key part of keeping the Falcons one of the best small school programs in Oklahoma.
Davhon Hall, 6’2 Junior Guard, Roland – Injuries hampered Hall during the playoffs, but he still had an impressive year as he grew into his athleticism and dynamic abilities for 3A power Roland.
Destin Edwards Destin Edwards 5'9" | PG Community Christian | 2026 State OK , 5’10 Sophomore Guard, Community Christian – One of the very best passers from the small school ranks, the sophomore is blessed with great vision and reading of the game.
Denton Forsythe Denton Forsythe 6'1" | PG Dale | 2026 State OK , 6’2 Sophomore Guard, Dale – The 6th man for the Pirates, Forsythe would start for the vast majority of teams in Oklahoma as a three point marksman and all around tough minded guard.
Elijah Garcia Elijah Garcia 5'9" | PG Crooked Oak | 2025 State OK , 5’9 Junior Guard, Crooked Oak – Garcia plays bigger than his size, leading Crooked Oak to 22 wins with averages of 15 points, 3 assists and 3 steals a game.
Caleb Hawkins Caleb Hawkins 6'2" | SF North Rock Creek | 2025 State OK , 6’3 Junior Forward, North Rock Creek – The tough and versatile two sport star, maned the middle for North Rock Creek during their run to the Class 4A semifinals
Keller Hitcher, 5’10 Senior Guard, Stillwell – Hitcher was a double digit scorer, who helped the Indians to another Class 4A State Tournament appearance.
Adonis Holiman Adonis Holiman 5'8" | PG Atoka | 2024 State OK , 5’9 Senior, Guard, Atoka – A cerebral lead guard with great range from three, Holiman made the most of his one season at Atoka with strong individual performances.
Jyson Kim Jyson Kim 6'4" | SG Cascia Hall Preparatory School | 2025 State OK , 6’5 Junior Guard, Cascia Hall – Kim has a skilled scoring game, and averaged in the double figures for points on a balanced Commando squad that reached the Class 3A semifinals.
Deken Jones Deken Jones 6'1" | CG Dale | 2024 State OK , 6’1 Guard, Dale – A relentless competitor on the court, Jones made a huge impact on both ends as a fearless guard who finished his high school career with Three Straight Class 2A State Championships.
David King David King 5'11" | PG North Rock Creek | 2024 State OK , 5’10 Senior Guard, North Creek – A teammate elevator, King ran the show for a balanced North Rock Creek that racked up 24 wins in Class 4A.
Kaden Leache Kaden Leache 6'1" | PG Casady School | 2026 State OK , 5’11 Sophomore Guard, Casady – One of the better shooters in the small school ranks, the sophomore filled it up from deep while developing his lead guard skills during Casady’s first year in the OSSAA.
Luke Puffinbarger, 6’6 Senior Forward. Leedey – The small town standout has an European type feel to his game as a creative forward, reaching the Class B semifinals with Leedey.
Keilan Robinson Keilan Robinson 6'1" | PG Hooker | 2026 State OK , 6’2 Sophomore Guard, Hooker – Robinson is a lead guard, with an impressive all around game and athletechism. He averaged double figures for the Bulldogs who reached the Class 2A semifnals.
Jodie Shavers Jodie Shavers 6'6" | PF Mount Saint Marys | 2024 State OK , 6’7 Senior Forward, Mount Saint Mary – An impressive athlete, Shavers created highlight reel plays all year long on a Rocket team that reached the Class 3A State Tournament.
Ke’Shon Shelburn, 6’1 Sophomore Guard Wilson – Shelburn was a double digit scorer who was huge down the stretch as Wilson (Class B) captured their school’s first State Title.
Quincy Shelton Quincy Shelton 6'0" | PG Hugo | 2026 State OK , 6’1 Sophomore Guard, Hugo – The same end to end speed and strength that makes Shelton a star on the gridiron also makes him a dynamic threat in basketball.
Jackson Sowards Jackson Sowards 6'6" | PF Metro Christian | 2024 State OK , 6’5 Senior Wing, Metro Christian – An inside-outside threat, Sowards averaged 15.6 points and was a key part of a Patriots squad that won a lot of games over the last two years.
Tyrus Teehee Tyrus Teehee 6'5" | C Stilwell | 2024 OK , 6’5 Senior Forward, Stillwell – The Indians are a regular in the Class 4A State Tournament and the rugged senior post’s 15 points a game helped them reach the Big House yet again.
Jael Torres, 6’4 Senior Forward, Henessey – A bruising and skilled low post presence, Torress helped the Eagles to a Class 2A semifinal appearance while averaging 14 a game.
Carson Wiggins, 6’6 Senior Wing, Roland – Likely a high MLB draft pick, Wiggins was one of the best athletes in the state with eye popping poster jams and more for Roland.
Isaiah Wilks Isaiah Wilks 5'10" | PG Millwood | 2026 State OK , 5’10 Sophomore Guard, Millwood – An unfortunate midseason injury put a damper on a promising season, but he was able to return in March to help the Falcons reach the Class 3A finals.
Lane Womack Lane Womack 6'4" | SG Duke | 2024 State OK , 6’3 Senior Guard, Duke – Womack is a big time athlete, who made big plays during Duke’s run to the Class B semifinals.
