improved to 8-0 at the Lloyd Noble Center in March. The evolution of his passing ability and vision continues to allow him to fill the stat sheet, with 5 assists to go along with his 16 points and 7 rebounds. As always, the physical wing draws so much gravity with his drives and post ups. And he makes defense play by seemingly always making the right play. If left covered one on one, he’s simply two strong and skilled. Making him the biggest mismatch in Oklahoma right now.

time. The senior continued to add to his impressive high school resume with another dominating performance under the bright lights. Warlick continues to be a ferocious rebounder and finisher around the basket. While incorporating fantastic body control around the rim and improved driving skills. The gravity he creates on post ups and drives, opens up cutting lanes and open shooters along the perimeter. Warlick has become a fantastic passer and reader of the game, as evident by the 5 assists he was credited with. He was likely responsible for more points if counting hockey assists. The senior also had 23 points and 9 rebounds.

As a freshman, Warlick started on a Class 6A semifinalist squad. Then followed up that debut performance as the engine of back to back Class 6A State Titles teams. He’s been a ferocious rebounder and finisher for all four years. While he has expanded his face up game, became a sneaky good playmaker and has improved his perimeter shooting. They are all testaments to the work he puts in off the court. Meanwhile on the court he continues to be a hard hat wearing player, who beats up opponents on the glass. While also always finishing through contact. Even on the national level of the EYBL, he found ways to get it done. Regularly producing double doubles against players who will playing for high major programs next year. Odds are, he’ll continue to find ways to get it down with Wyoming.

had a great game, picking up the slack for their second leading scorer being out. He had eight points at the end of the first, sjx in the second quarter, six in the third, and then he closed it out with three more. He displayed the ability to shoot the ball by knocking down a three and showed the ability to finish through contact on drives and putbacks multiple times. One of my favorite plays by him that reflected extreme body control was when his teammate threw a bad alley-oop pass. He jumped and leaned back to grab the ball, then he contorted his body in the air and laid the ball in off of the backboard perfectly placed. He showed a great ability at not being phased by contact on drives and finishes. He had a block on a three point attempt and a couple of assists. Outside of his scoring, his rebounding was a massive area that he made an impact in. I counted 10 rebounds, with a balance of offensive and defensive rebounds. Finishing the game with a 20 point/10 rebound game is a good picture of the kind of impact that he was able to make. This is the reason why the University of Wyoming commit had other division one offers, as well.

Warlick is a guy whose physical presence is something that you can’t miss. He plays with great strength and is relentless when going to the basket. On the offensive side of the basketball, he can post up, shoot the three off of a catch, and finish at the rim with either hand. Not only does he have great talent but he also has a knack for basketball. On the offensive side, he always finds his way to the rebound and mirrors the same thing defensively as well. He led his team in points and rebounds throughout the entire tournament and he is my TOC MVP.

In some ways you can copy and paste the reports from the two previous days for Mr Fundamental. Bruising scorers around the rim. Knocking down a jumper to keep the defense honest. Oh, and converting at the line, he helped salt the game away in the fourth as he went 13-16 from the charity stripe on his way to 22 points. Warlick’s steady free throw shooting continues to be a sign that he’s just scratching the surface of his ability as a shooter.
Along with his points and rebounding production, he continues to be an even better source of creation. He handed out 5 assists, with his usual chemistry when passing out of the high post. Along with passing out of doubles and better passing off the dribble.
It’s not breaking news that

sent a loud message that his candidacy for player of the year honors should be expedited to the front of the line. Crossings obviously had the scouting report on Warlick, sag off and try to limit his damage on drives and post ups. The senior made them pay by hitting three times from distance. All were off the dribble, a perfect display of improved confidence and touch from deep. Once those threes fell, the rest of his game opened up and the senior would score a game high 22 points and hand out 4 assists.
Fellow senior Tramble left the game with an injury in the first half, and Warlick stepped up in the ball handling and creation department as well. The senior has been a flat out producer since stepping on the court as a freshman for Edmond North. And now with even more tools in his expanding bag, Warlick and his North teammates sent a loud statement on Thursday night that Edmond North potentially has a gear that the rest of the state might not be able to touch.

It was a full stat line for the Wyoming signee as he led Edmond North with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Warlick remains a bowling ball off the dribble, as whenever his team needed a bucket it was often off Warlick attacking. He also often turned defense into offense, as he’s looking to pitch it ahead on defensive rebounds or loose balls. Which is often accompanied by the senior racing down the floor to either get the ball back, or clean up any miss on the offensive.
Another aspect that has been crucial to his development and his team’s success is continual improvement as a passer. Last year he had outstanding chemistry out of the high post, and he’s built off that as more of a complete offensive hub. The only blight on Warlick’s day was going 0-3 from three. His release does appear to be more fluid from deep and will bare monitoring over the next few days and this season.

The State Player of the Year candidate was his usual blue collar self around the rim. Grabbing boards, powerful drives and taking advantage of mismatches with post ups. It wasn’t a flawless performance, as by his high standards his finishing was a little off in the first half. But he was automatic in the second half as Edmond North poured it on. One continual sign of development for the Wyoming signee, he’s continuing to improve as a passer when he draws a crowd. Last year, it seemed to often be Warlick working high to low passes and hitting cutters, but tonight there were more on the money kick out passes to open shooters.

What else is there to say about the State Player of the Year Candidate? He’s been the engine of back to back 6A titles for Huskies, while being a walking double double. Now he’s signed to play at Wyoming at the next level, with an improved jumper to go along with his physical, bully ball playing style. Warlick plays through contact about as well, or better than any player in recent Oklahoma history. And his tenacity on the boards is unmatched. As a wide eye sophomore, he proclaimed a three-pete was possible in the post game presser following his first Gold Ball. With one season left, the lofty goal is attainable.
