One of the aspects that standouts about Edwards is it doesn’t matter which hand makes the passes. Odds are it’s going to be accurate and right in the shooter’s pocket. Along with his usual show running, dime dropping ways, this was a stronger shooting performance off the dribble from deep. Complete with him knowing when to look for his shot when trying to push the tempo in a rally attemp. Rock solid lead guard, who overcome some early turnovers to have a strong game.

The cerebral lead guard only played in one of the two games pulled from BallerTV, but whew. It was a good one to watch. Started with Edwards having the composure to handle a feisty and quick opposing defender. Even on the rare occasions he briefly lost his composure, his recovery time to regain possession was impressive. Continues to have great velocity and vision to thread the needle on drives, or spray the ball all over the court. Edwards is a true pass first floor general, but also had a very efficient scoring performance. Knocked down open threes. Then late in a close contest, hit a nice spin move leaving a defender in the dust, and lofted a floater over the out stretched arms of help defenders.
Advantage creator, who pulls the strings for Rogue ‘ last=”], while providing scoring punch when needed.

On the other side of the game at Paycom was the promising sophomore floor general. While his squad came up short on the day, it was a good well round exhibition of his skills. One of the biggest sticking points was the variety to his passing,. A few passes that stood out were big time crosscourt passes out to shooters while he was driving, a great feed in transition via a bounce passes and a nice, on the money backdoor set up in the halfcourt. Edwards also looked quicker and more decisive as a driver, which popped up when he closed out the first quarter by getting downhill and hitting a 8 foot floater over a defender. A great rep for end of the shot clock situations at the next level. It was a good watch, as the sophomore continues to grow his all around game to match his passing acumen.

Playmaking seems to be in Edwards’ DNA, as he reads the game outstandingly with top tier vision. He’s often pushing it in transition to find advantages, while also being great in ball screens and other half court situations. An interesting development to watch this year has been his improved scoring ability, which is a needed trait for smaller guards to have success at the next level. Edwards is shooting 40% from three, with some clutch shooting performances playing a key role into Community Christian’s 14-4 start.

looks to have Community Christian in the mix. He had a big showing, including clutch shooting at the Hinton tournament as he averaged 19 points a game. A heady point guard, based on the highlights videos it seems to be he’s becoming fully comfortable as a long range bomber at the high school level. He nearly shot 50% from three, while continuing to be a playmaker by averaging a little over 4 assists a game.
