Expert Analysis

Joining Warlick in leading the way for North was the crafty point guard. He got active on the glass, grabbing 6 boards while scoring 16 points. Tramble reads the game so well, especially knowing when to push and sense weakness in transition. He’s not a burner with the ball in his hands. But he still is great at pushing it and either finishing himself or dropping highlight reel worthy dimes to teammates. The senior is a newcomer to North, so a chance at a winning his first State Title will be extra sweet for him. Before he heads off to Independence Community College.

Tramble has been an impact player since his freshman year, with a skilled offensive scoring package. While he can scare in a variety of ways, he has thrived this year as the man pulling the strings for Class 6A favorites Edmond North. He’s just as capable of running a half court offense, as he at pushing it with tempo and throwing pinpoint transition passes that lead to lobs and open threes. When the cerebral guard is on his game, he’s one of the very best players in Oklahoma. He’ll be headed to Independence Community College where he’s expected to be the ringleader of a infusion of Oklahoma talent to the prestigious Jayhawk JuCo conference.

Tramble is a guy who doesn’t score a bunch of points but always knows how to make the right play. He is very competitive and always willing to guard the best perimeter player on the other team. He has a great basketball IQ and understands how to get the ball to his teammates in the places they can score. At times throughout the tournament, he was a one-man fastbreak and was able to blow past the entire defense to get easy layups for himself and others. He understands the moment and always makes the play that is needed for it.

Tramble got into double figures with 13 points, but his impact went beyond just his scoring. He was part of a two headed guard duo that really set the tone on the defensive end, using strength and experience to disrupt one of the best scorers in Oklahoma. One of the best offensive traits that has long been true about the lead guard is his ability to play fast but in control. He has a knack for pushing it off long rebounds or even makes, and while he’s not quick he always finds that extra step to pressure the defense to create for his teammates or slip to the rim.

While Tramble’s scoring production was muted, his impact on the game was anything but quiet. Early on Edmond North’s offense seemed to stall out at times. The second half was night and day, and it was Tramble at the controls. He had amazing finds in transition. In the half court, he was a creation hub. With his physical frame, he’s often able to post up or slow down in traffic, warding off defenders and giving his teammates extra time to cut to the basket or spring open on the perimeter. There also seems to be developing pick and roll/pop chemistry between Tramble and Warlick.
Along with Tramble’s quality cerebral playmaking, he was a key member of a Husky defense that completely stonewalled the Panthers’ second half offense. He’s not the quickest guard, but he understands how to leverage his strength and angles to stay in front of quicker guards. The scoring punch will come, but playing quality team defense and creation are important staples for a traditional point guard, and Tramble looks set to fill that role for his new school.

As a sophomore, Tramble played in the Class 6A State Title game with Moore. He was one of the best players on the court, playing at his own pace, hitting tough jumpers and always looking in control but he came up short against Edmond North. Now he’ll be closing out his high school career with Edmond North, where he should excel as a set up man for their deep roster while also providing a crucial scoring punch himself.

Tramble has been one of the most productive players in the state since he first stepped on a high school court in late 2020. He has a complete offensive game, with the ability to run a team in the halfcourt, push it and make reads in transition or score at all levels himself. After a strong end to his summer, Tramble has one last chance to capture a state title with a new program, Edmond North.

Tramble looks to be in great shape headed into his final high school season. He still has a strong frame, but it looks like in recent months there has been a focus to improve his body, quickness and overall movement. The heady PG remains a crafty scorer off the bounce, while looking fluid on pull ups. Offensively he has always done a good job at dictating tempo and playing the game at his own pace. But the improvements physically should pay more dividends on the defensive end, enhancing his already heady instincts at reading the game.
The new Edmond North Husky has been on recent visits to schools like University of Colorado Springs, and today picked up an offer from the new coaching staff in Independence Community College (KS). Tramble will likely have his pick of the top JuCos in the region, with the potential to be priority target for four year programs as well.

With a great basketball IQ and feel for the game, Tramble is a skilled scorer who can also makes his teammates better. He’s always been an exceptional off the dribble shooter, especially from beyond the arc. He plays with good pace, using hesitation and understanding of angles to find his way into the paint or stop in the mid-range. While not the quickest prospect, his outstanding reading on the game often allows him to be in the right spot at the right time on the defensive end. This winter, the lead guard will have a chance to be a “pick and roll maestro” with the size he’ll be playing with at new school Edmond North.
