During Forsythe’s high school career, he likely didn’t get talked enough as one of the best bucket getters in Oklahoma. Went out with back to back 30+ games and putting on absolute show as a shooter and physical finisher. For some reason there seemed to be some that expected that Dale would drop off at some point over the last two seasons. But every time Forsythe and his teammates answered the bell. They dominated Class 2A in similar fashion as the groups that came before them. Players like the senior who shoot the ball and play as hard as he does tend to be hard to be taken off the floor. So expect the skilled scoring guard to start grinding his way to minutes at Tulsa as a freshman.

The Tulsa commit shook off a tough start to put together back to back 30+ games and a 5th place finish. It was more of the same for the outstanding senior. A master at drawing contact with his pump fakes and other moves on drives. Anytime Dale needs a clutch bucket, it’s going to be Forsythe and everyone in the gym knows it. He’s the leader for a squad that is the favorite to win their 5th straight Class 2A Title. And hasn’t lose to a fellow Class 2A team since February of 2023.

Leading scorer for the game, Forysthe shook off a slow start but his lofty standards to take control of the game. Strong and decisive as an attacker, got wherever he wanted on the court. Did an outstanding job of either scoring himself, or making the right read to open teammates. As always his motor ran hot, with tough rebounding, sprinting in transition and even a chase down block. There will be some nights where his teammates will be dialed in as shooters and Forsythe will flirt with triple doubles this year.

There were quite a few of Oklahoma’s best players in the gym on Saturday. But considering the individual and team performance of Dale, the player who played the best on the dale was the recent Tulsa signee. From the jump of their opening match up with Booker T Washington, Forsythe and his teammates were on a mission. Individually, he had it going from all over the court. Tough scores at the rim, smooth pull ups and making it rain from three. And he didn’t force looks either. While the clear focal point for the Pirates, he kept the ball moving and got his teammates good looks as well. Based on the last few weeks, good luck to the rest of 2A as they try to take the crown from the four time defending Pirates.

The Tulsa commit proved he could be the primary scorer on a State Title team last season. Now to win his fourth ring, and his school’s fifth straight, Forsythe will have to shoulder even more of a scoring load. Thankfully with broad shoulders, he’s built to be a tough scorer. Has great footwork on drives and the ability to navigate through traffic for tough finishes. Is equally capable shooter from pull up threes as he is spotting up. He has proven to be a team first player, who will make the right plays. But as a leader for an inexperienced team around him, expect 30+ point nights to become a regular occurrence for the Pirate.

After being arguably the best 6th man in the state as a freshman and sophomore, Forsythe was given a leading role and thrived. Which shouldn’t be shocking, as he was also tough as nails. But to go along with his strong mentality and frame, he became even more of a powerful attacker of the rim And he shot it exceptional well off the dribble from three.
Forsythe’s crowning moment at the high school level last year was when he made it rain in the Class 2A semifinals. He put defenders on skates, then drained threes like they were layups. The next day, Dale would win their third straight State Title. Now, a new era of Dale basketball will be on his broad shoulders. As there’s a new coach, and there will be four new starters around Forsythe. Given how good of a scorer and competitor he is, it would be ill-advised to bet against the Pirates in Class 2A.

The little brother of the Forsythe family has often said he’s going to be better than big brother Dayton. Well, he has an one up on Dayton for at least one stat now. Most points scored in a single State Tournament game. The junior came out on fire from three, and punishing drives at the rim. Had 23 at the break, including multiple stretches of off the dribble makes from three. He may have the same last name, the same big time game, but Forsythe is writing his own chapter in Oklahoma high school basketball history. Tomorrow he’ll aim to deliver Dale their fourth straight Class 2A State Title, with a 2A rematch up against Pocola.

Forsythe continues to write his own book this year as the primary scorer for a Dale squad seeking their fourth straight State Title. Hit a couple early threes to silence the crowd. Then when the lead was as narrow as three in the second quarter, he was the Pirate to step up and score a couple tough buckets to give them breathing room at the half. Finished with a game high 23 points on 13 field goal attempts. Complete guard, who also made some big time passes on drives. The pressure only ramps up from here and Forsythe looks up for the fight.
