Expert Analysis
Sam Duren | Prep Hoops Scout
One of the key figures who need to step up for Dale to win their fifth straight title. Did just that with a barrage of threes and second half scoring to help put the game out of reach. Was a bit up and down in the first half, as he plays fasts on drives. Which can lead to table setting scores but also some turnovers. Still good to see him leverage his size, speed and handles to be a strong on the ball attacker. His ability to help break the press and set up his teammates will be crucial for the Pirates to reach their ceiling.

MVP of the Tournament in the 16U division. Certified Baller. Hard to play him in man coverage, because he’ll blow by you eventually. Hard to double-team him because he doesn’t hold on to the ball for long and keeps the offensive flow moving. Hard to zone him because he will shoot the lights out from beyond the arc or the mid-range, and he rolls with a squad (OK Runners 16U OKSTATE champs), so they will filet you as well. Hard to target him on defense because he has quickness, hands, speed, and just enough jumping ability to challenge you at the rim. Your best bet against Jeremiah is not to bet against Jeremiah.

All-around point guard who understands the concept of Anticipation on Defense, because of this, he is a good help defender. Can actually block shots as a help defender at the rim. Well above average athletically. He has quickness, speed, and plays stronger than he looks. He has sneaky hops and is super-fast up the floor with quick hands.

Skaggs is the kind of player every team needs but few truly appreciate—an unselfish playmaker who impacts the game in all the little ways that add up to big wins. He creates opportunities for his teammates through relentless effort: setting solid screens, fighting for extra possessions, and making the smart pass to get shooters their looks. His basketball IQ and willingness to do the dirty work make him a catalyst for ball movement and offensive flow.
