The crafty guard, with elite handles went out with 24 points. Lived at the rim, with a killer crossover that broke ankles and kept defenders on their heels. At the rim, he has good hangtime, long arms, allowing him to seemingly always find that extra bit of space or time to get off a shot. The ending was bittersweet, but it was a memorable playoff run for Bethany’s all time leading scorer.

Bethany’s star junior guard was a bright spot on the night. He often had the ball on a string, allowing him to navigate through tight spaces and drives, while also routinely creating separation for off the dribble jumpers. Todd loves to get to the free throw or extended for his pull up, which netted good look overalls. But he was cold on the night in the mid-range. Still, he has great hangtime on his jumpers and drives around the rim, often allowing him to get off good looks even when he doesn’t gain as much separation. And he also connected on a couple threes when McGuinness sagged off to account for his tight handle and driving ability. It will now be a long road for the Bronchos, as they have two must win games just to reach Area. That starts tomorrow, with Todd at the helm they will have a fighting chance because he is a handful off the dribble.

Bethany are another undefeated Class 4A team and their point guard is a big reason why. He was the hero with 25 points in the quintuple overtime game on Friday night. Then took it up a notch with 29 points in a 54-51 win over 5A program Sapulpa. Todd had a strong sophomore campaign but some of the eye popping stat lines he’s put as a junior are signs that he has elevated his game to an even higher level.

In one of the most dramatic games of the day, Bethany would survive a 5 overtime thriller against fellow 4A program Stillwell. Junior guard Aiden Todd Aiden Todd 5'11" | PG Bethany | 2025 State OK is one of the craftiest scorers in the state, and he scored 25 points in the Bronchos’ victory. But this time he likely earned a merit for toughness, as Stillwell is known as a physical and tough program. To add to the toughness theme, Todd poured in his points after missing a game earlier this week. It doesn’t get easier for Bethany, as they take on 5A program Sapulpa in the finals on Saturday night. But the victory over a fellow 4A program like Stillwell makes the trip to Tulsa very fruitful, as that’s the type of contest that the Bronchos will have to win if they want to make their first Class 4A State Tournament appearance since 2020.

After proving his bonafides as a scorer for Bethany as a sophomore, Todd’s time on the 16U circuit did a better job of showcasing his long term potential as a creator for his teammates. He still has a great variety of finishes, with a good understanding of angles along with the ability to buy that extra second with a hesitation move. Which allows him to be a great finisher for a smaller guard. But he merged those traits with improved shooting and setting up teammates for good looks. When Todd plays focused and in attack mode, he’s an efficient scoring and creator.

Another heady floor general, Todd is a shifty and tenacious downhill attacker. While he does do a good job as a finisher for a smaller guard, the Bethany Broncho also had good vision to find teammates when he plays with patience on drives. Overall, he’s a crafty lead guard that finds a good balance between scoring and distributing, who should help Bethany make some noise this winter in a still deep Class 4A.

The first contest watched against Urban DFW elite was a solid showing for Todd. He has good fundamental game when driving with euro steps, spins and more. His match up against Southern Assault was more impressive, as he fought through some early adversity with turnovers and size at the rim, to produce in a comeback victory. What got him in trouble early, and a couple other moments, was where he fell in love with pounding the rock. When he was more decisive in attacking, he has enough craftiness and tight handles to get down hill. Where he has a good understanding of hesitation and angles to get off shots against bigger foes. While not the quickest guard for high level grassroots, the reps he did win where a good showing of the advantages of playing patience and understanding simpler moves and passes are more effective at this level.

We’ve mentioned quite a bit how competitive and deep Class 4A is this season and that’s going to be a theme here as Bethany sophomore Aiden Todd Aiden Todd 5'11" | PG Bethany | 2025 State OK is the first of several 4A standouts that earned MVP honors on Saturday. Todd and 4A’s #10 ranked Bronchos would beat up on 3A’s #11 Lindsay 80-50. Todd would lead all scorers with 31 points in the win and also dished out quite a few assists.
