Sowards is a guy I like to call Mr. Consistent as he is always going to hit a few threes, get a few baskets around the rim, and get to the free-throw line as well. He consistently creates mismatch issues because he is a bigger forward who can also put the ball on the floor but loves to pull the defender out to the three-point line because of his ability to shoot them. Sowards is a guy who is very silent with what he does and I think can fit in many different systems at the next level because of his ability to play so freely on both ends of the basketball court.

It’s been a huge week for the tough forward prospect, he’s led the Patriots in scoring in all three contests. On Thursday, he recorded a 20 point, 10 rebound double double. Then followed it up last night with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Sowards forms a “bruise brothers” type combo with fellow senior

, as two strong and athletic seniors that will often give the Patriors an edge aorund the rim. Although both have more to their game than just physicality.
Sowards and his Metro Christian teammates will look for their second win over Mingo Valley Christian on the week in the championship of the Cleveland Invitational tonight. It would be a strong start to a big December, as they play 3A rivals Victory Christian on Tuesday. Then take part in the loaded Tournament of Champions field at the end of the month.

A physical slasher, Sowards has solid movement for his size and attacks well as a face up four when presented an open lane. At the rim, he’s tough finisher. Combination of rebounding and toughness goes well with his frame that should continue to fill out at the next level. This winter, Sowards should step into a bigger scoring role for last year’s Class 3A runner ups, Metro Christian.

is a true big man that does all the little things night in and night out. Sowards ability to stay consistently moving on offense, finding gaps and holes in the defense makes him a big target for his teammates down low, couple by his ability to elevate quickly and score. Jackson is very comfortable around the rim and knows how to establish position against his defender and score with ease. Sowards is a anchor on the defensive end this season sending away 3-4 shots in numerous games added to his handful of double-doubles, the kid is a stat sheet stuffer. Coming off a 3a State Championship appearance where Sowards and Metro Christian fell 3pts short to a solid Millwood program, this summer will be a opportune season of growth for the big man as he prepares t return next season to handle some unfinished business.

is one of the more intriguing prospects to follow moving forward in the 2024 class. Sowards is your traditional forward that does almost all of his scoring inside the paint. He has the size to dominate the majority of Metro Christian’s opponents in Class 3A this season. He has the potential to be a double double machine but to become a bigger prospect for the next level, he will have to improve the other areas of his offensive game. But you can’t argue with the production and more importantly, the efficiency that Sowards plays with. He’s impressed every time we’ve watched him.

was part of the hot start for Metro Christian as they put Victory in a hole that they weren’t able to climb out of. And Sowards did it on both ends of the floor. Sowards scored 10 of his 12 points before halftime. And in the first half, he was the primary defender on Victory Christian’s star big man

, who struggled to get going in the first half. Full disclosure, that did not last and Mason got hot in the second half. But Sowards slowing down Mason’s start to the game was critical in allowing Metro to build a lead that would survive any attempt from the Conquerors to come back on Monday night. Sowards did almost all of his scoring near the rim and we’re wanting to see more of his game moving forward, specifically as he improves his jumper.
