A physical slasher, Sowards has solid movement for his size and attacks well as a face up four when presented an open lane. At the rim, he’s tough finisher. Combination of rebounding and toughness goes well with his frame that should continue to fill out at the next level. This winter, Sowards should step into a bigger scoring role for last year’s Class 3A runner ups, Metro Christian.
This spring and summer has brought fun viewing to identifying the growing strengths of Westmoore’s potential floor general. He’s growing into an improved athlete, a two handed slam in transition was proof of that. But it’s more than those physical growths, it’s watching him direct traffic and his improving vision and passing. Loper had a couple nice drives and finishes as well in one of Rogue ‘ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”]’s victories, indicating he should be ready for a bigger role this winter with the Jaguars.
Highlights
The athletic dual sport guard proved he’s a winner with a furious close to one of Chaos’ contests. The entire game, he was all over the court with his elite speed and quickness. While also showing off the toughness accustomed to football players by playing bigger than his size. To complete the comeback, he popped up for an offensive rebound and was fouled. He converted the free throw to tie, then Chaos’ pressure defense caused a quick turnover and score for the win in the final moments.

Continuing a theme among Northwest Classen guards, Butler is shifty, has a good handle and can create for himself. For a smaller guard, he’s a very strong finisher at the rim, while also being confident in his off the dribble shooting ability. One area of note of potential improvement is better vision in transition, as there are often times the simple pass ahead is much more advantageous than trying to navigate through traffic while pushing it himself.
One of the most improved 2025s this spring, Brown continues to show great defensive versatility in ability to cover multiple positions. Wednesday on offense, he had his brought spots as a passer. He often looked to use his strong frame to his advantage on post ups, and when defensive help came, he was an outstanding passer to open teammates all over the court.

An intriguing wing prospect, Payne has a huge wingspan and good overall athleticism. To go along with the upside that comes from him continuing to grow into his tall frame, Payne looked good in mid-range opportunities as a shooter. If he plays this winter with the same energy as his older brother who just finished up at Putnam City North, the younger Payne and his Pirate teammates could be poised to be darkhorses in 6A.
