has gotten off to an impressive start so far this spring— controlling games on his own terms, scoring efficiently at all three levels with natural instincts, creativity off the dribble, and a polished offensive feel. Beyond his scoring ability, Gordon embraced the role of facilitator, showcasing impressive court vision and instinctive passing that elevated the play of those around him and consistently put teammates in position to succeed.
In recent weeks, Gordon has received offers from Rutgers, Providence, and Maryland. Look for Gordon to continue to capture the interest of plenty of high major programs as we approach the May live period.

carried so much of the steam he picked up during the high school into a smooth start playing 17U. Quick burst off the bounce paired with poise as a ball handler with advanced feel for the game, Gordon shined as an overall playmaker— taking what the defense gives him and balancing between scoring at all three levels, on and off the ball, and finding guys open in different spots on the floor.

did just that— putting together as impressive an individual season as anybody in the state of New Jersey in recent history in the midst of a junior season that saw firmly establish himself as the best player in the state. In a junior season that saw him boast impressive averages of 24.7 PPG, 5.29 APG, and 5.13 APG on the way to capturing back to back NJSIAA Group 4 state championships and knocking off New Jersey’s #1 team in Bergen Catholic in The Throne National Championship quarterfinal, Gordon was nothing short of outstanding— consistently dictating the game on his own terms scoring effortlessly at all three levels with natural scoring instincts and smooth creativity off the bounce, while also embracing his role as a facilitator with the court vision and instinctual passing feel, uplifting those he shared the floor with to create for others and consistently put teammates in the right positions to succeed. It’ll be interesting to monitor what his trajectory looks like with the momentum he’s generated thus far heading into the summer amongst the national 2027 class.

Fresh off a state championship victory, Gordon seized the opportunity presented by Plainfield’s late addition to the field, leading the Cardinals to a nailbiting win in front of a standing-room-only crowd in a pseudo-TOC matchup with fellow NJ state champ Bergen Catholic. Just as he did in the state title game, Gordon expertly picked his spots throughout the game, letting things come to him while setting up his teammates before stepping up in the second half with a series of timely buckets. Despite struggling from the perimeter, Gordon finished with 23 points and 5 assists, getting to his spots off the bounce with his pristine skill level, blowby speed, and deceptive strength. He set his teammates up for countless open looks from the perimeter and took consistent care of the basketball while facing nonstop defensive attention with the ball in his hands for the vast majority of the game. It was yet another legacy-defining performance for Gordon who continues to etch his name further into the state’s history books.

once again delivered a standout performance that highlighted not only his poise as a potent ball handler controlling the action with the ball in his hands for most of the contest but also his feel for the game as a skilled multi level scorer and a decisive and unselfish playmaker. Behind an impressive 23 point, 6 rebound, and 5 assist outing Gordon had his fingerprints all over this one for Plainfield— exceptional court vision and instinctive passing feel to create drive and kick and “one more” three point opportunities for his teammates, absorbing contact when attacking driving angles to routinely get to the free throw line and creativity and craftiness off the bounce to get to his spots to provide timely scoring converting on soft touch floaters, crafty finishes at the rim through bumps and smooth mid range pull ups.

The best player in the state, Gordon came out aggressive with a runout dunk igniting the crowd and giving him six quick points. He would then fade into the background, controlling the pace of the game with his ballhandling but lying in wait as a scorer like a shark stalking its prey. Late in the third quarter, he struck, going back into attack mode and unleashing a masterful display of shotmaking from each level of the floor to push Plainfield to its first comfortable lead of the day. By the time his poster dunk early in the fourth pushed Plainfield ahead by a dozen, the game was all but over and Gordon had led the Cardinals to back-to-back state titles with 20 points on 9-for-10 from the field.. It wasn’t Gordon’s most explosive performance but was a quintessential demonstration of how to dictate the flow of a game and pick your spots to score from the lead guard position.

did a terrific job of scoring with creativity and craftiness at all three levels while also continuing to shine as a willing and instinctive facilitator, routinely delivering the ball to teammates in spots where they can be most effective. Typically and equally effective as a scorer creating for himself as he is as a distributor, Gordon impacted the game in a variety of ways both on and off the ball— piecing together strong stretches of attacking driving angles with strength and physicality, deep range outside shot making off the bounce and as a spot up shooter, and creating off the bounce and getting to his spots in the mid range area for smooth and fluid pull ups.

once again delivered a standout performance that exhibited a complete offensive package that combines advanced and crafty three level scoring with natural high level playmaking while also fully embracing the responsibility of applying constant ball pressure and disrupting opponents at the point of attack defensively. Gordon settled into a nice offensive rhythm that essentially saw him get whatever he wanted— particularly from a shot creation and perimeter shooting standpoint, getting to his spots in the mid range area with pace and creativity while also excelling as a dangerous and confident outside spot up shooter. Possessing a keen overall feel for the game, Gordon also allowed the attention he warrants from opposing defense(s) to excel as a selfless facilitator who routinely puts teammates in positions to succeed. Equally impressive as a defender, Gordon distinguished himself on the defensive end, showing strong instincts and a readiness to be a persistent defensive presence.

The best individual performance of the day undoubtedly came from Gordon, as the all-state performer poured in a career-high 42 points to steer the Cardinals in a bounceback win coming off their first in-state loss of the season earlier this week. Gordon came out firing with 15 first quarter points, mixing in smooth jumpers and tough downhill drives as the Cardinals got out to a 27-7 lead that they’d never come close to surrendering. His buzzer-beating 3 before halftime was key toward helping maintain the momentum. Despite the scoring performance, Gordon still managed to impress as a facilitator, consistently making the right pass in both the halfcourt and transition to generate easy shots for his teammates. Games like this make it hard to argue for anybody else as the best high school player in the state.

has shown confident do it all ability from the point guard position and continued to do so this past Sunday— unselfish facilitation, firing passes to open teammates and delivering it on time and on target to keep teammates in rhythm paired with a natural and advanced ability to be a dynamic and efficient scoring threat, particularly as an outside shot maker with deep range accuracy. Gordon was equally impactful on the defensive end— where his relentless ball pressure, quick hands, and anticipation allowed him to beat opponents to their spots, disrupt opposing ball handlers, and jump passing lanes with regularity to turn defensive pressure into easy offense.
