Pur only played 16 minutes due to foul trouble but he made the most of his time on the court with a couple interior finishes and a handful of rebounds. Defensively is where Pur provides the most value on the floor as he contests shots well at the rim and doesn’t back down from anybody. Pur’s most recent offers were to Kent State, East Carolina and UNC Greensboro, three programs I think Pur would be able to see heavy minutes right away at.

Pur is a bouncy post that brings a ton of defensive versatility to the table.  Wiry big man is a plus shot blocker who alters many others.  Also has switchability on the defensive end, runs the floor, and is an active offensive rebounder.  High-energy post who plays off his athleticism.  Efficient 6 points (3-4 FG) and 5 rebounds.

Pur had a solid final game of the weekend by doing the things I’ve seen him do all winter for Spire. Pur runs the court, rebounds on both ends of the court and protects the rim. Able to make reads against the zone defense and make simple dribble moves with either hand, Pur shows some intriguing offensive flashes. Hoping to see Pur continue to fill out physically heading into his senior year as he’ll be facing much heavier bigs at the college level but his impact as a rim protector and rebounder with some offensive skill makes him a valuable piece for Team CP3 on the EYBL circuit.

A midyear addition for SPIRE, Pur looks to be getting more and more comfortable and was rewarded with the starting nod on Friday night. He responded with a strong double-figure performance that offered a glimpse into his two-way ability in the frontcourt. The South Sudanese big man plays with a relentless motor and moves with a level of ease and control that’s rare to find at his size. He shows to be a versatile defender with his ability to protect the rim and slide his feet on the perimeter with smaller players. Offensively, he was effective as a cleanup man inside but also showed some ability to create his own shot from the post or space the floor as a shooter and decisionmaker with the ball. He continues to trend as a high-major frontcourt target in the 2027 class.

The top new name in Ohio, Pur made a late transfer to Spire and comes from North Carolina where he is already a name well known by high major coaches. Pur has a unique blend of ball handling, passing and perimeter skill for a prospect his size. Having a big man who can operate with the ball in his hands and stretch out the defense allows for so many creative offensive sets and to space out the defense. Pur had a big summer playing with Team CP3 on the EYBL 16 U circuit, alongside Ohio native King Kendrick.

Pur has been a stock riser nationally and on Prep Hoops North Carolina with his continued development. Rare to see a prospect combine the rim protection and ball skills that Pur does at his size. I usually scoff at the term point forward at the high school level but Pur has legit creation ability on the ball and should be expected to run some actions as the primary decision maker at the college level. Pur is also on a sharp upward trajectory and still hasn’t turned 17 years old. Cincinnati was the first high major to offer Pur while Maryland, Penn State, Tennessee, South Carolina and Mississippi State have followed.

A top prospect in the 2026 class to keep eyes on with The Burlington School; a versatile prospect really coming along as a slasher, attacker and paint presence on both ends of the floor; really brings an intriguing dynamic given his playmaking ability and energy beyond just scoring the ball; a name DI programs should be buzzing about by the end of 2025-26

Pur is a tall, long and athletic player. He uses his frame and quick jumping ability to block/alter shots. Pur is an efficient scorer around the rim.

Chienggen Pur is the top center prospect to know out of Burlington Christian Academy. He racked up 11 double-doubles on 56 percent shooting from the floor while posting 15.8 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.2 blocks, 1.3 assists, and 1.1 steals per game as a sophomore this past season. Mississippi State, South Carolina, Cincinnati and Nicholls have offered him. He’s set to attract a ton of HM attention this upcoming grassroots cycle with Team CP3 on the EYBL stage.
