Peach Jam: Wednesday 17 U Standouts

I attended the second day of Peach Jam and in this article I'll break down my 17 U standouts from Wednesday's action. Kendrick played one of his most complete games I've seen from him as the ambidextrous point guard made some key plays offensively to push his team to a victory. Kendrick knocked down a couple pull-up jumpers but also threw down two dunks that were some of the most athletic plays I've ever seen him make. The improvement to Kendrick's explosiveness has helped take his game to the next level as the Ohio native has seen his recruitment spike over the last two months. More than just a scorer, Kendrick finished the game with seven assists and six steals, two aspects that usually lead to wins from the point guard position. Pur only played 16 minutes due to foul trouble but he made the most of his time on the court with a couple interior finishes and a handful of rebounds. Defensively is where Pur provides the most value on the floor as he contests shots well at the rim and doesn't back down from anybody. Pur's most recent offers were to Kent State, East Carolina and UNC Greensboro, three programs I think Pur would be able to see heavy minutes right away at. A massive win for PG Elite as they got up 23 points in the first half and held on to win in an exciting battle. While Barnes twin brother had a big second quarter to help build the 20+ point lead, it was Isaiah who hit back-to-back 3-pointers to ensure PG Elite wouldn't sacrifice the lead and hold on to the win. A prospect I've been high on for a while, Barnes was first nationally ranked on Prep Hoops and continues to show why we have so much confidence in his ability. After an awful first half where nobody on Indy Heat looked motivated to compete, a switch flipped in the second half as they cut a 23 point deficit to three in the fourth quarter. Wright got going by making a couple set jumpers and getting settled into the game from a physicality perspective. Wright turning up the intensity on the glass and defensively helped Indy Heat as they made a massive push to try and steal a pool play win. The Louisville commit is returning home for his senior season of high school and was an easy choice to slot back in at number one in the Prep Hoops Kentucky 2027 rankings. Florida Rebels are a dominant team at the 17 U level this year and Crawford is a key piece of the puzzle for their group. I was really impressed with how coordinated Crawford was as he has soft hands and a good awareness of where he is on the court. A quick leaper off the ground, Crawford is fast to catch and finish at the rim before rotating rim protectors can contest his shot. Finishing 9/12 from the field for 18 points, Crawford was feasting on the interior in both half-court and transition opportunities. Time will tell if Crawford is able to help lead Florida Rebels to the elusive Peach Jam Championship. Team Herro is looking like a real contender to win Peach Jam and their depth, size and defensive unity all are reasons to believe in their group. Davis impacts the game in all three of those ways as he defends bigs, rebounds and protects the rim as a help-side rim protector. Davis also passes the ball extremely well for a forward as he reads the court and hits cutters and spot-up shooters. Stuffing the stat sheet on Wednesday with a handful of points, rebounds and assists, Davis finds ways to impact winning every time he steps on the court.
