Williams is regarded as the number one national prospect on a few other national rankings websites and for good reason. The wing is a knockdown shooter with the positional size and athleticism to be an impact defender and slasher. I caught Williams at Session I of EYBL and he stood out with his two way impact, perimeter shot-making and efficiency. Williams certainly looks the part of a five star, top ranked player in the country with his frame, athleticism and perimeter shooting and will be a prospect top programs in the country fight for on the recruiting trail.

One of the nation’s top players in the sophomore class, Williams did nothing but solidify his stock, averaging 25 points per game in Atlanta while leading the Stars to a 4-0 record. A three level scorer with size, length, and strength, he combines high level athleticism with consistent production and an ability to create his own offense. He rebounds his position, defends multiple spots, and plays with a high level of confidence, making him one of the most impactful prospects in the class.

One of the top national prospects in the 2028 class, Williams was one of the best players in the gym on Sunday. Williams projects as a potential two-way wing who can knock down shots off the catch and create offense for himself, one of the more valuable archetypes in modern basketball. On Sunday, Williams had maybe the highlight of the day when he jab-stepped one way then attacked going left on the right side of the rim before quickly exploding for a monster slam dunk. Shortly after, Williams used a fake pass to get open and hit a 3-pointer. Georgia’s 2028 class is stacked and Williams is at the top of the list.

Different. That’s the word that keeps coming up with AJ Williams AJ Williams 6'7" | SF Eagle's Landing Christian | 2028 State #2 Nation GA —and it’s backed by everything: production, rankings, and presence. The No. 1 player in the country in the Class of 2028 (across multiple major outlets) , Williams isn’t just hype—he’s delivering at a ridiculous level. He put up 31 points and nearly 13 rebounds per game this season and has dropped monster outings like 50 points, 18 boards in a single game. At 6-7 with length and fluidity, Williams plays like a guard in a forward’s body. He’s super smooth off the bounce, creating his own shot with ease and scoring at all three levels. The mid-range is advanced, the handle is tight, and he’s comfortable rising up over defenders or getting downhill and finishing through contact. What separates him from most elite scorers is the versatility. He can initiate offense, make reads out of pick-and-roll, and create for others—not just hunt shots. He’s shown that ability on the national stage as well, including USA Basketball mini-camp exposure and EYBL play with the Georgia Stars . Defensively, the tools are all there. Length, timing, and rebounding instincts make him impactful on the glass and disruptive across multiple positions. He’s not just putting up numbers—he’s affecting the game everywhere. And maybe the most telling piece: the moment doesn’t faze him. Big stage, big expectations—he produces anyway. Williams isn’t just the best sophomore in the country—he’s tracking toward being one of the next names out of Georgia to carry real national, high-major star power.

One of the nation’s top prospects in the 2028 class, Williams had a dominant season at ELCA, averaging over 30 points per game. A true three-level scorer, he combines size, length, strength, and high-level athleticism to create matchup problems across the board. He can score off the dribble, finish through contact, and knock down perimeter shots with consistency. Beyond his scoring, Williams rebounds for his position, defends multiple spots, and plays with a high level of confidence and competitiveness. His all-around production and physical tools make him one of the most complete and impactful prospects in his class.

In a matchup featuring two of the nation’s top prospects, Williams’ Chargers came up short, but the sophomore wing delivered the most impressive performance of the day, pouring in 32 points in defeat. The 6-foot-7 wing scored at all three levels and was often forced to generate offense on his own, consistently carrying the load. More than just a scorer, Williams showed willingness and vision as a passer, further reinforcing why he looks every bit the part of one of the top prospects in the country.

Another Atlanta prospect making waves on the national scene, Williams is one of the top wing shot makers in the country. When Williams feet are set, it’s usually going in. During the 5 on 5 part of the minicamp games are divided into individual quarters and Williams hit a game-winning 3-pointer to win a quarter for his team. When Williams is cutting off the ball he’s also dangerous as a play finisher. Hoping to see Williams continue to mature physically over these next few years as his skill and shot-making talent is exceptional for his age and height.

Williams was one of the most productive 15 U players on the EYBL circuit, showcasing his polished game as both a scorer and defender. Averaging 22 points and 1.5 steals per game for the Georgia Stars during the 15 U season. Williams scored 28 points in the 15 U Peach Jam Championship, going 15/16 from the foul line in the game. While Williams and Lusakueno will obviously get compared to each other as the top 2 players in our rankings nationally from the same state, they are very different prospects at the moment.
