A tremendous playmaker in every facet of the game, consistently making the right basketball play with a tremendous feel that elevated everyone around him. He scored efficiently while creating high-quality scoring opportunities for his teammates on a consistent basis. Duncan understood tempo, controlled the flow of the offense, and always seemed to be one step ahead, knowing exactly when to score, facilitate, or slash through the lane.

Duncan was impactful in a variety of ways and leaned into his his biggest strength: Two-way versatility. The strong, physical and athletic 6-foot-5 wing showed he can defend multiple positions, rebound in and out of his area at a high rate and generate offense without having to dominate the ball. Duncan was very good in transition where he filled lanes or pushed the break on his own, earned paint touches, and finished through the contact he sought out. The Colorado-native averaged 21.6 points per game in Vegas.

New to Ohio’s 2028 class, Duncan made his debut at the top spot and showed why on Tuesday. The explosive wing athlete is a tough defender who can guard multiple positions on the ball and can contest and block 3-pointers. Duncan is explosive off his feet and is sudden with how quick he gets up to the rim in transition. Duncan also knocked down an early catch and shoot 3-pointer from the corner and his form looked smooth in one motion. That confidence made it surprising that Duncan finished just 4/10 from the foul line, as he should’ve finished with well over 20 points in the game. While the thrilling contest didn’t go his way, Duncan still showed why he’s the top ranked prospect in Ohio’s 2028 class and a name to know nationally.

I caught Duncan at Team USA October minicamp back in October and was impressed by his physicality, ability to play off two feet and power. Duncan played with the Utah Mountain Stars at the 15 U level and has played for Legynds on the EYBL circuit alongside fellow Colorado native Dylan Betts. Duncan debuts at first in our Ohio rankings as he’s in our top 25 of the national rankings at the moment and is around the same range in the Rivals national rankings as well. Duncan holds offers to programs like Kansas, TCU and UNLV already and will likely add to that list with the Spire program.

I mean, Marceles Duncan Marceles Duncan 6'5" | SF/PF Spire Institute | 2028 State #23 Nation OH as the No.1 player in the class is a no-brainer at this point, and anybody who says otherwise is delusional. He was named to the 1st Team All-State as a sophomore, he led his team to a Top-3 seed, and he was even invited back for the USA minicamp. Duncan filled it up, averaging 18 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.6 assists a game. He’s locked in defensively, showcased a reliable 3-point shot, which opened up the rest of his game, and plays the right way. He’s the No. 1 player in the class. 

Marceles Duncan Marceles Duncan 6'5" | SF/PF Spire Institute | 2028 State #23 Nation OH is a different caliber of hooper who’s constantly redefining his play style and proving to be one of Rangeview’s most important players. Duncan was able to accumulate a shell-shocking 24 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal, and a block. At 6’5, good luck to any defender with the assigned task of guarding him. Duncan is shifty with the rock with lethal acceleration that he uses to create space for himself across all three levels of the floor on offense. Hustling for each loose ball and focused, there’s no question that Duncan will be a pivotal player to keep your eyes on in the Final Four.

Duncan stuffed the stat sheet in Round 1 with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals, showing just how impactful he can be on both ends of the floor. His size immediately creates matchup problems, whether he’s posting up smaller defenders or attacking slower ones off the dribble. He finishes through contact, extends possessions on the glass and turns defense into offense with his quick hands and anticipation. Those four steals sparked transition opportunities and shifted momentum. If he continues to assert himself early, control the paint and disrupt passing lanes, he’ll be the engine that elevates his team in the next round

Crashing the glass at will, Duncan enjoys giving his squad as many second-chance opportunities as possible. Establishing himself as a top-tier hooper in the box state, Duncan is averaging 18.6 PPG, 8.1 RPG, 3.8 APG, 2.3 SPG, and 2.3 BPG. Across the board, he’s elevated his game to new heights, taking over games whenever he wants to.

Duncan had a glow-up this summer, after already having an incredible freshman season. He comes in as the No.1 sophomore in the entire state, and what’s even scarier is that he continues to get better. Rangeview is one of the favorites this season, and Marceles is a big reason why. He brings the defensive identity and toughness to this group and also has looked to expand his game. He’s now shooting the 3-ball and has been consistently knocking those down while still being undeniable inside and at the rim. Caught a couple of bodies as well. He’s averaging 16.7 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 boards through three games. He’s the engine of the team and allows them to be multidimensional. He comes in at the No.3 player in the conference, but could very well be the most valuable. 

Duncan continued to prove why he’s regarded as one of the top players in his class. With the ball in his hands more often this fall, he showcased impressive poise and decision making, reading defenses and making the right play time and time again. Offensively he was a constant scoring threat who was able to shift momentum with big buckets and electrified the gym with highlight reel dunks at the rim. Beyond the scoring Duncan’s defensive efforts really stood out. He took pride in locking down his assignment and making life difficult for opposing scorers. His ability to impact the game on both ends, combined with his leadership and confidence, solidified his status as one of the most complete and game changing players on the floor
