His coordination has just come such a long way and looks like a different player right now. He’s moving in transition, grabbing the ball and finishing with next-level dunks, and looks to have one of, if not the highest, ceilings in the state right now. You’d have to rewatch some of those games at Colorado Live to see just how good he could be. Brooks was grabbing the ball and keeping it high, keeping it away from the defense and not allowing players to take it out of his hands by staying strong, which is progress for him. He is still getting used to using his body and coming into his own, but he moves well and is fluid for his size.  Brooks went against other good bigs at Colorado Live and continued to stand out and look like a guy who could be unstoppable at times. He even stepped out and hit the 3-ball a few times, which really showed the versatility, and if you’re thinking about going to watch a game, his performance against Chatfield is where I’d start. Brooks easily looked like one of the top players at the event, and now you want the consistency to pick up where he has to be a big-time, impactful performer every night. It’s all coming together. 

Brooks is one of the more intriguing prospects in the state because players with his size and potential simply do not come around often. Standing at 7’0” he presents matchup problems every time he steps on the floor. Last season at Legend he gained valuable experience and showed significant growth, particularly during the second half of the season when his confidence and production began to take off. Brooks is an effective scorer around the basket, thriving in the post and from the dunker spot, where he uses his size and frame exceptionally well to seal and shield defenders. As his game continues to develop, the expectations surrounding him are understandably high, and he has all the tools to become a consistent nightly double double threat

Brooks has the size that immediately standout and he’s a traditional big man who is a two-way standout. Brooks was blocking shot son the block, not allowing easy baskets at the rim, and getting his hands on many plays. He also had a few rebounds that he grabbed and went right up with it, boards that he tipped out to teammates, and kept plays alive. Brooks is starting to see the offense catch up as he had a few drop-offs on the block when he quickly made moves, spun off of it, and had a few baskets. Legend is going to use him a lot more this upcoming season, and he should have plenty of eyes on him this season. Big day for him at MSU camp. 

Brooks is a rare Colorado player as he’s a 7-footer with intriguing upside. He continues to show steady progression with each outing, and it was only a matter of time until we got eyes on him. Well, he’s popped as he moves well for his size and brings coordination that allows him to impact both ends of the floor. Brooks uses his length to rebound and finish inside while flashing defensive instincts as a rim protector. He’s still developing physically and skill-wise, but the trajectory is clear. He’s a long-term prospect whose growth and tools make him a name to monitor closely, as he can go in as one of the state’s best very soon.

With Brooks’  height and skillset, playing for B&B is going to do wonders for his ceiling. He’s coached hard and told how to play the right way, and this weekend, you certainly saw flashes of what he could be. He kept the ball high, he felt contact and spun off of defenders, and went up strong and finished through contact at times, and that is big for him. He was catching the ball on the block and delivering for his team offensively while still being a defensive game-changer. His length stands out, and it is now all starting to come together for him. Excited to see how his game comes along, but he stood out on the weekend.
