EYBL Vegas: 16u Wings Who Impressed

LAS VEGAS — EYBL made its lone west coast stop last weekend at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Nike-based circuit had its teams inside a 20-court facility as some programs sharpened up for Peach Jam and others battled it out to earn a spot in the summer's most prestigious club/travel event. Below are the top 16u wings we were able to get eyes on.    Okoth has the prototypical wing combination of size, length, athleticism and finishing ability that makes him a Top 30-ranked prospect in the country. The wiry 6-foot-7 junior-to-be was an aggressive downhill driver who attacked closeouts in the half-court situations and covered ground quickly in transition where he glided to the rim for crafty or powerful finishes. Okoth stuffed the stat sheet in Vegas as he averaged 22.5 points and 7.7 rebounds, including two 30-point games and better than four offensive rebounds per game.     Rolle's physical and athletic tools made him a scorer who was difficult to keep out of the lane and away from the rim. The 6-foot-5 wing, who has been one of the biggest stock-rising prospects on the west coast this summer, used his fluidity, length and savvy ball-handling ability to great angles off the dribble and get by his initial defender with ease. When met by help or rim protectors, Rolle's extension to and touch around the rim took over as he finished off his paint touches at a high percentage. Rolle averaged 17 points on nearly 61 percent from the field.     Smith was one of the most electric transition finishers among 16u level teams that we saw. His combination of explosiveness and length, to go along with his willingness to get out and run the floor with energy, led to him getting to the rim and finishing with right handed and left handed dunks. The 6-foot-6 rising junior has multiple high major offers under his belt and it's easy to see why with his high motor, positional size and his knack for making plays on both ends of the floor.     Duncan was impactful in a variety of ways and leaned into his his biggest strength: Two-way versatility. The strong, physical and athletic 6-foot-5 wing showed he can defend multiple positions, rebound in and out of his area at a high rate and generate offense without having to dominate the ball. Duncan was very good in transition where he filled lanes or pushed the break on his own, earned paint touches, and finished through the contact he sought out. The Colorado-native averaged 21.6 points per game in Vegas.     The game comes very easy to Collins, a well-built 6-foot-7 wing with a smooth and versatile offensive arsenal complete with a high basketball IQ. Collins impressed with his efficient shot-making from three-point and mid-range areas of the floor and his willingness to allow the game to come to him and not force bad shots. He shot just under 58 percent from the field, 50 percent from three and flashed rebounding and passing ability. Collins put up 19 points, 4.6 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game in Vegas.     McKinney's blend of size, strength and athleticism overwhelmed some opponents at the 16u level which led to him being an effective slasher and finisher in transition and half-court offense. The 6-foot-6 wing thrived in transition settings where he pushed the break or filled the lane and finished at the rim with authority. McKinney flashed off-catch three-point shooting ability while shooting his best percentage from behind-the-arc among all the EYBL sessions.
