with Hargrave. A very talented wing with size and athleticism, he is a three level scorer who can really get downhill. He is aggressive at the offensive end and earns trips to the free throw line. Expect Smith to continue trending up the national 2028 player rankings.

Smith is another dynamic, 6-foot-6 guard/wing with a significant ceiling in the long-term, but showed this weekend that the potential is quickly turning into production as the primary offensive threat for Hargrave. Like Carter mentioned above, the appeal is how Carter gets to his spots and produces in limited dribbles. You can tell the fundamental skillset is very present and always has been with his development. He attacks closeouts with quick, long strides making it difficult for defenders to recover, but can also score it from the mid-range and around the bucket in a variety of ways. Hargrave is a young team that will depend heavily on Smith’s production. Learning how to be the guy who can swing winning for his team could be great for his development. Georgetown and Oklahoma State offered shortly after the rising junior averaged 14PPG, 6RPG and 2.3APG this weekend.

Well, this is one of the most intriguing prospects I’ve had the chance to watch at the HS level in my nearly 15 years around the sport. He has grown from 6’4″ to 6’8″ as a true to age sophomore and his frame has adjusted remarkably well to the growth spurt. He has an absurdly refined mid-range game that allows him to really exploit the mismatches in front of him. He showed tremendous defensive versatility as he’s still learning some of the front-court responsibilities on that end of the floor. He can soar above the rim in transition, knock down catch and shoot 3s, and does all of it within the flow of the offense. Smith epitomizes the basketball phrase “swiss army knife” he is capable of impacting the game in so many ways while still just scratching the surface. Hard to imagine a world where he doesn’t finish in the top 15 nationally in this class.
