gets all of the headlines at Reidsville but in a final four game Vs Washington with the season on the line and Neal not quite his normal self, Cauthen delivered the most important performance of his basketball career. He finished with 28 Points, 7 Rebounds, 3 Assists, and 5 Steals while shooting 10-17 from the floor, 1-1 from deep, and 6-9 from the free throw line in Reidsville’s 59-58 win over Washington, avenging their loss from The John Wall. Cauthen’s ability, confidence, and general mojo proved to be enough to help Reidsville keep the dream alive. He’s got a really slippery handle with the ability to use his body around the rim to get baskets at the cup. He can get hot from the outside and just genuinely take a game over offensively when needed. Cauthen is setting himself for a monster 16u summer but he’s got one more big game to win at Reidsville as they’ll be facing Salisbury in the 4A Title game.

Cauthen turned in a big-time performance in Reidsville’s Elite Eight matchup, finishing with a double-double that included 27 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists. The sophomore guard thrives attacking downhill, using his quick first step and length to get into the paint and finish through contact against bigger defenders. He was a major factor in transition as well, constantly pushing the tempo and creating offense for himself and teammates.

this season and has steadily improved as the season’s progressed in his ability to impact winning at both ends of the floor. His presence on this team is so incredibly valuable and that can often be difficult for young players to understand and fully grasp. Cauthen has really turned the corner in that department over the course of the season and his ability on the court is obvious. Cauthen is averaging 22.2 Points, 8.5 Rebounds, 5.2 Assists, 4.6 Steals, and 0.6 Blocks per game all on 57/38/73 shooting splits. Reidsville is on another title run in the NCHSAA 4A bracket as they have a John Wall rematch with Washington on Friday. In Reidsville’s 3 wins thus far in the playoffs Cauthen has had scoring totals of 25, 25, and 27 Points. The kid is finding his stride at the perfect time and is looking to help Reidsville add some more hardware to the trophy case that other trophy cases are jealous of.

Cauthen is a sophomore star already producing like a veteran, attacking downhill with crafty touch, pull-up game, and advanced playmaking while showing poise beyond his years. He brings toughness and high motor on both ends, making him one of the top young prospects in the state, college coaches should get in early. February was more of the same: consistent 20+ point nights, multiple double-doubles, and huge contributions during Reidsville’s dominant conference tournament title run.

. Cauthen’s ability to heat up from the outside, attack the rim with purpose, and be a secondary creator is incredibly valuable to this teams success. Reidsville is 12-1 and 6-0 in conference with Cauthen averaging 22.6 Points, 8.7 Rebounds, 5.5 Assists, and 4.7 Steals on 59/36/71 splits. He’s the definitive second option next to Neal and has really embraced that role with the way that he’s played. He’s showing that he can be impactful on or off the ball, a true weapon while providing pressure defensively, and he’s proving to be a real winner alongside one of the best winners we’ve seen in a long time. Cauthen should still continue to get more and more attention in the coming years.

Cauthen has been a great addition to Reidsville and got more comfortable as this game went on. After a slower first half both individually for Cauthen and collectively for Reidsville, the Rams came out with a real purpose with

not far behind him. Cauthen finished with 16 Points and 4 Rebounds in a tight loss to Washington. Cauthen’s ability to play off of Neal and get buckets while going downhill was crucial to the comeback. He was 4-4 from the field and 8-11 from the line for a truly efficient showing. Cauthen will continue to gel with his new teammates at Reidsville and prove his value with his ability to make plays at both ends of the floor.
