Neal carried the offensive load for Reidsville, pouring in 38 points and getting to the line 17 times. The senior guard was aggressive attacking the basket all night and showed his ability to create offense even with the defense focused heavily on him.

A prospect who has broken records on both the gridiron and hardwood in North Carolina, becoming most notably the first player in North Carolina history to eclipse 1,000 career assists. That is along with his 2,500 career points and 600 career steals. Undersized for sure but Neal does so many things at a high level that I expect him to come in and make an instant impact for UNC Greensboro next season.

is the best high school athlete in North Carolina in my lifetime and it’s not too much of a debate. Neal possesses traits that help him in both sports in different ways. He’s an elite processor of information, allowing him to read defenses as a point guard, and snuff out plays as a defensive back. He’s ball hawk instincts from football directly translate to basketball as he’s got some of the best defensive instincts of anyone I’ve seen at the high school level. Neal’s quickness, instincts, and competitiveness translate. When you add his advanced IQ, improved range/consistency on his shot, and willingness to leave it all out there to win, Neal is the top ranked 2026 in North Carolina for a reason.

Neal delivered another strong performance as expected, showcasing his ability to manage pressure and lead his team. He consistently handled double teams, made good decisions with the ball, and repeatedly got into the paint to finish through traffic. His play was instrumental in Reidsville’s comeback win after trailing into the fourth quarter.

We try to spread the love here at Prep Hoops NC, we highlight the top performers but want to make sure we don’t get redundant in our coverage by writing about the same player over and over. I have to abandon that for

because he is simply too dominant of a player to not write about. He had his 2nd straight 42 point performance and this time in a tight win over Southeast Raleigh. He scored 42 of his team’s 71 while going 15-22 from the floor in the process. It’s almost impossible to truly disrupt this kid from doing what he wants, he gets where he needs at all times. Defensively, he has an absurdly high feel for timing when getting steals. One of the best basketball minds you’ll see, truly on a different wavelength than everyone else out there.

Neal is a true savant with the basketball in his hands. Despite the loss to Washington, Neal poured in 42 Points with 36 coming in the 2nd half as Reidsville nearly overcame a 16 point halftime deficit. Neal has the best foot speed of any player I’ve covered at the high school level. His two way IQ is unmatched, truly on a different wavelength than everyone else on the court. The outside shot was really falling for Neal in the 2nd half as well, really opening the defense up for his drives, leading to him dominating the last 16 minutes. He is one of the best athletes that has come through the State of North Carolina

One of the most exciting athletes to watch in the country, Neal is an exceptional basketball and football player for Reidsville despite standing well under 6 feet tall. Recruited at both sports at the Division I level, Neal opted to commit to UNC Greensboro to play basketball next season. We don’t want to skip the present however as Neal will look to go out on top during both football and basketball season, he’ll be competing for North Carolina’s Gatorade player of the year in both sports. I also like betting on players who haven’t ever fully focused on one sport their entire lives to make exceptional leaps once they become committed to one sport 365 days out of the year. Kids who play multiple sports in high school can sometimes make large improvements in their college career with a singular focus, I’ll take my chances on Neal getting that type of growth trajectory over the next few years.

One of the toughest point guards to defend in the country, Neal is a blur on the court and create for himself or teammates, Neal was third on EYBL in assists per game in session I. Winning Gatorade player of the year in North Carolina as a junior, Neal showed how impactful he is to winning regardless of environment. Neal recently secured his first high major offer from Boston College in April and I expect more schools to follow.

. I was only able to keep up with his stellar Junior Season from afar, so he was one I wanted to check in with in person this weekend. Neal also opened some eyes in Rock Hill with his ability to make plays for himself and others. Dionte ran the show in CP3’s dominant win over Drifty Elite by executing sets with rare errors. He also displayed quickness, strength, a nice floater game, and good feet on the defensive end. Neal racked up 9 points, 8 assists, and 2 steals in game one.
