Of the many juniors here in the state of New Jersey who endured breakout seasons over the course of the past few months, Peti Rosta Peti Rosta 6'10" | PF Blair Academy | 2027 State NJ turned heads with his rare mobility and versatility at his size, providing legitimate two way impact for Prep National runner ups, Blair Academy. A meaningful presence in Blair’s frontcourt, Rosta provided tremendous value with his rim protection and rebounding, using his length to alter and block shot attempts around and fluidity to crash the boards and secure rebounds all while also demonstrating an ability to switch out onto guards and slide his feet against quicker guards and wings. On offense, Rosta showed strong glimpses of stretching the floor as a reliable outside shooter and an aggressive driver, while also taking advantage of mismatches by backing down smaller defenders in the low post. Rosta’s development will be interesting to track as he continues to gain strength and refine his skillset heading into the summer time.

One of the breakout juniors across the state after relocating to the U.S. this fall via Hungary, Rosta stood out with his impressive versatility in a quietly effective two-way effort. Despite lacking in strength, he was active around the rim on both ends with his length and fluidity, helping to clean the glass and contributing as a secondary rim protector. The southpaw showed his defensive versatility while sliding with guards on a number of occasions before effectively challenging shots at the rim. He was rewarded for his tough-nosed effort with two of the biggest shots of the game, a layup and a corner 3 to tie things back up after Blair had briefly fallen behind in the waning minutes. Rosta has a handful of mid and high-major programs tracking his development closely heading into the grassroots season.

Offensively, Rosta provides optimal floor spacing as not only an outside shooter but also as a driver, all while also capitalizing off mismatches backing down smaller defenders in the low post. Defensively, Rosta should also provide versatility in the different ways he can impact the game— defending with length to be disruptive against opposing ball handlers and size to fight against bigger forwards. As Rosta continues to get stronger and refine his skillset while adjusting to the speed of the American game, look for him to turn heads throughout the course of his junior season.

Entering the season as one of the favorites for a national prep school championship, Blair got its final preseason tuneup with a rare matchup against traditional high schools, giving Rosta an additional opportunity to get his feet wet in the States. An import from Hungary with extensive international experience, Rosta impressed as a modern hybrid forward with the size, skillset, and fluidity to operate across the floor. The southpaw showed good aggressiveness while still getting used to the speed of the American game. He moves his feet well on D while showing length to bother opposing ballhandlers. Offensively he showed confidence stepping out to the perimeter as a shooter and slasher but was also able to take smaller defenders into the post for easy buckets near the rim. Rosta should have a chance to earn high-major attention as he grows more comfortable stateside and adds strength to his frame.
