A prospect who is trending upwards, Whyte cracks our top 100 rankings and I’d assume he finds himself in the top 100 in other national rankings. Whyte had a big weekend out west at Pangos All American camp making the top 30 all star game. Whyte also won MVP of 3SSB Session II according to The Circuit as he helped New Heights go 4-0. New Heights is currently 8-0 and looks to be a favorite to win the 3SSB circuit in the summer. Whyte also has announced a transfer to Blair Academy for his senior season, another opportunity to play against top competition.

Having endured as hot an entire spring as anyone here in the area, new Blair Academy transfer Kamari Whyte has firmly established himself as natural and instinctive scorer who can easily find a rhythm offensively and score from multiple different levels on the floor. Consistently putting pressure on the defense in a multitude of ways, Whyte has proven to be more than capable of attacking downhill in half court offense and in transition opportunities and being a physical driver to get to the basket and finish through contact while also getting to his spots in the mid range area out of various different actions, creating separation off the bounce and knocking down tough pull up jumpers.
On the heels of a number of impressive showings during the first few 3SSB sessions, Whyte has received offers from programs such as Towson, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, and UAB.

Kamari Whyte is the youngest player on this list a 27 combo guard playing for Vermont Academy in New England. Whyte is featured in a heavy amount of pick and roll, often operating from very high on the floor. But due to his burst and long first stride off the dribble, he gets downhill quickly. One of his patented shots is that free-throw line jumper that he can get to either off-ball or out of the pick and roll. He has a high release jumper, and he shoots it almost like a fallaway, leaning back, creating as much space as possible. He’s a force in transition and has an effortless level change, allowing him to get into the chest or even core/legs of a defender, create space, and draw contact. Because of this, he gets a favorable whistle and is on the receiving end of a lot of three-point plays.
Defensively, he’s great in the passing lanes but more like a cornerback than a safety. He knabs the ball just as it’s hitting the offensive player’s hands, then takes it, heading the other way.

Whyte was completely dominant in Vermont Academy’s win over Darrow. The 6-foot-3 guard seems like he has leveled up athletically and is even more physically dominant on fast breaks than he used to be. He has so much speed and explosiveness with a head of steam and finishes beautifully with contact using his right and left hand. There might not be a better player at drawing fouls and converting and-ones in the NEPSAC than Whyte. The junior also made play after play on the defensive end—steals on the ball, blocks, and passing lane interceptions—and turned them into offense. He’s a special, special player who should be garnering lots of D1 interest.

Whyte, a junior guard out of Vermont Academy in Vermont, has impressed every time he’s taken the floor with his combination of energy, skill, and two-way tenacity. Vermont Academy also sits at 5-5, tied for third in AAA and playing well on both ends of the floor behind Whyte. An elite perimeter defender, Whyte is one of the more impressive guards in the region on that end of the floor. He’s disruptive at the point of attack, jumps passing lanes to create turnovers, and can really get out and run in transition. He continues to improve as a decision maker with the ball in his hands, while also showing the ability to take over games as a scorer when asked to. Whyte should attract plenty of attention at the scholarship level this spring and summer.

Whyte continues to put together big performances, consistently rising to the moment against quality competition. He’s a true three-level scorer who can hurt defenses at the rim, in the midrange, and from beyond the arc. As he builds momentum, he’s establishing himself as one of the best 2027s in the Northeast.

Whyte, a guard out of Vermont Academy, has the ability to take over a game on both ends of the floor. Defensively, he uses his strength to his advantage, bumping opponents off their spots and making it really difficult for them to create easy looks. Offensively, he’s a handful to guard when he gets downhill, where his power and athleticism stand out around the rim. He’s a tough shot maker in the mid-range, continues to improve his consistency from behind the arc, and is elite when he can get out and play in transition.

Whyte is a relentless rim attacker who puts so much pressure on the defense for the entirety of the game. He gets downhill at will and can finish quite athletically with both hands at the rim. Even with multiple defenders contesting, the 6-foot-3 guard has wonderful touch and a knack for finding space to get his shot off. He also excelled in the mid range against New Hampton and still finds the energy and effort to compete on the defensive end despite his large offensive usage. Whyte should be getting looked at by D1 schools and continues to be one of the more underrated guys in the NEPSAC in my opinion.

Whyte is a rugged guard who had a very efficient showing with his offensive floor game. He was a frequent customer at the foul line converting most of his chances from deep. He is an aggressive 2-way player who can propel his way to gather steals. I would like to see him clean up some of his turnovers. Whyte punishes the rims with his athleticism. If he gets out into transition look out for him to make a play. Whyte is a prospect who should see an uptick in his recruitment at the mid and mid plus level.

Whyte is a three-level scoring guard who can put points up in bunches. He’s dangerous both on and off the ball, creating shots with ease. His ability to score from deep, mid-range, and at the rim keeps defenders off balance.
