Getting back on the floor for the first time after Wood’s early exit from the state tournament, Lundy was playing with a purpose while running the show for Keystone Blazers in a big win. The lanky lead guard was difficult to contain with his shifty handle and deceptive changes of pace, working to his spots consistently while showing an ability to score or facilitate from each level of the floor. Lundy finished with 20 points while making plays on defense and keeping his teammates involved throughout the night. He continues to track as one of the more dynamic playmakers in the region.

A player who Prep Hoops has been ahead of the industry on for a while, Lundy has made the switch from New Heights on the 3SSB circuit for 16 U to Team Final on the EYBL circuit for 17 U. Lundy impressed with Archbishop Wood in the historic Philly Catholic league, earning first team all-conference honors after scoring north of 18 PPG this season. With no new posted offers since the summer, it seems like colleges haven’t been as quick to offer Lundy as I’ve anticipated but he already has some top regional mid-major programs and might opt to crush it there to begin his college career.

Fending off some stiff competition for this selection, Lundy gets the nod in large part due to Wood’s 12-1 league record and first-place finish in the standings. The junior guard continued to grow into his lead guard role throughout the year, building on an up-and-down sophomore season to become one of the most consistently dynamic threats in the region. He’s a blur getting downhill as a scorer or playmaker with capable range as a shooter and a penchant for stepping up in big moments. Lundy’s upside as he continues to grasp the nuances of the point guard position is apparent, already having caught the attention of several mid and high-major programs.

Wood is sitting atop the Catholic League standings right now and it’s safe to say they wouldn’t be there without the play of their explosive junior guard. Lundy has been as dynamic as any guard in the state with his ability to penetrate off the bounce and make things happen for himself or his teammates. Some of his biggest moments have come throughout Wood’s biggest wins, most notably against Roman, Judge, and Neumann within league play. He’s still learning some of the in’s and out’s of managing a game as a lead guard, with it being only his second year truly playing the position, but you can see him growing on the fly while showing increasing glimpses into what things could look like if it all comes together. Lundy is being pursued heavily at the mid-major level with several high-majors keeping a close eye.

One of the most dynamic lead guards in the region, Lundy was uncharacteristically quiet for much of the game but stepped up when it mattered most in the fourth quarter to help secure the win. A lanky guard still growing into a quickly-evolving body, he scored nine of his 15 points in the final frame, highlighted by a pair of tough driving finishes through traffic, including one of the and-one variety. Lundy was effective throughout as a facilitator, consistently setting up his shooters when he attracted extra defensive attention off the dribble. He would also ice the game at the foul line, calmly knocking down a pair while nursing a one-possession lead in the final seconds. The South Jersey native holds a handful of mid-major offers while continuing to trend toward high-major territory.

Scored 17 points on 5-14 from the field and 2-7 from the three-point line. The scoring combo guard is a creative finisher at rim off either leg, has super deep 3-point range, and is a threat to collapse the defense any time that he has the ball.

-Lundy is beginning to find his way in a very deep backcourt room for the Vikings. He started things off with a well-timed backdoor cut for the lay, hit a corner 3 off the catch, executed a beautiful 1-handed bounce pass with some zip on it from halfcourt to an open big under the rim, and was especially dynamic in transition. Loved the drive n kick wave of plays in the 2Q and beginning of the 3Q to push his team out to big leads. His ability to switch ends of the floor quickly with the ball in his hands should be huge for a young but balanced Wood roster this season as they look to make a splash in the PCL.

Although there were multiple intriguing prospects from this Archbishop Wood team, Lundy stood out through his ability to impact all facets of the game. He scored from all levels, defended multiple positions, and consistently operated as the main creator. Lundy offers a strong blend of IQ, size, and athleticism with a polished skillset. He plays with a high motor, which allows him to regularly stand out defensively and on the glass. Lundy simply did everything to shine as a leader for this group.

Lundy is my pick for the prospect who has his coming out party this season and really puts his name on the map in the region, state, and the country. He is an ultra-smooth guard who has a knack for scoring and his ability to make plays. Lundy was a prospect who made 2nd team all Catholic League as a sophomore and i predict he will make the first team this upcoming season. He has had a few mid plus to high major programs get involved with his recruitment in the last several months and expect more to be involved in the future.

I was really impressed with Lundy when I saw him with New Heights on the 3SSB circuit this summer. A quick and crafty guard scorer who could play both on and off the ball, Lundy helped his New Heights 16 U team to the Palmetto Road Championship where they fell just short Vs Team Lillard. So far Rhode Island, La Salle, Temple, Towson, St Joe’s and more have already offered Lundy. With so many elite mid major programs recruiting him early, I expect Lundy to either be an instant impact player at a program like that or start to earn high major offers next summer. Either way, Lundy will have a chance to make a difference at whatever level of program he commits to.
