Making a homecoming to the Garden State, Derkack had a clear spring in his step on his way to a team-high 18 points. The Colonia (NJ) transfer and Providence signee was persistently aggressive in the floor game, flying around in both the halfcourt and transition to make plays around the rim with his length, athleticism, and natural instincts. He looked more confident than we’d seen in the past as a spotup shooter from the perimeter as well. Derkack’s ability to impact games consistently without needing many plays called for him should bode well for his translation to the high-major level and potentially even beyond.

Such a smooth and gifted natural athlete, Derkack is an elite defender who caused issues all day long for Christ School players. Derkack is switchable, aggressive on traps and looks to jump passing lanes where he can turn a steal into a dunk in no time. In transition Derkack’s natural athleticism really shines as he can finish acrobatic layups and dunks whenever he gets a clear runway for liftoff. I also liked Derkack’s ability to play under control when attacking closeouts, making jump stops to read the defense before firing a pass to a teammate. Expect Derkack to play sooner rather than later at Providence, his college head coach was in attendance on Saturday showing just how important of a commit he is to the Friars program.

I got to see Derkack with Team Final during the EYBL season and he actually looked taller and stronger than back in May. A power athlete, Derkack has the frame, balance and explosiveness to finish above and through contact in the paint. A fluid mover with the ball in his hands, Derkack is going to thrive in transition when he’s able to run out in transition at the college level. I’ll be watching closely to see if Derkack can make 3-point shots at a consiscent rate this winter with Spire, it could take his game to the next level.

One of the top wing scorers in the 2026 class nationally, Derkack was a monster at the high school level in New Jersey and has decided to make the jump to prep powerhouse Spire under head coach Kevin Boyle for his senior season. Derkack showed his ability to have the offense run through him at Colonia but with Team Final, his elite off-ball movement was highlighted. Very efficient, Derkack finds open shots and will likely shoot a high percentage relative to his positional peers in the Nike Scholastic league. If Derkack can consistently knock down 3-point shots, he could see his national ranking rise. Programs like USC, Villanova, USF, Butler, Indiana, Maryland, Oklahoma State, Notre Dame, Dayton, Xavier and Creighton have all offered Derkack since the spring.

had an impressive showing over the second scholastic live period that saw him put on display a skillset that impacts the game at a high level on both sides of the floor. Derkack showcased his perimeter shotmaking ability alongside his ability to attack off the bounce and get downhill. Defensively, Derkack used his athleticism and tremendous motor in combination with his length to be a disruptive defender and make highlight plays all over the floor.
The high major interest continued for Derkack picking up offers from Indiana, Butler, USF, and Villanova over the course of last weekend.

stood out in the different ways he found to impact the game with and without the ball as well as on both ends of the floor. Derkack demonstrated his perimeter shot creation knocking down a handful of threes off the bounce while also being an aggressive slasher and using his length to finish through traffic and with toughness. Defensively, Derkack demonstrated his ability to guard multiple positions, rebound the basketball, and make highlight plays.

was extremely effective in the different ways, on both sides of the floor, he was able to impact winning at a high level. Whether it was scoring from different levels on the floor, initiating offense and creating open looks for his teammates, crashing the boards and coming down with rebounds, guarding multiple positions and making highlight plays defensively, Derkack’s fingerprints were all over the game.

One of the more versatile and instinctive guards in his class, the camp setting was a good one for Derkack to show his ability to consistently find ways to impact the game no matter who’s alongside him or what he’s asked to do on the floor. Averaging double figures despite an atypical 0-point performance in one of his five games, he contributed across the stat sheet, showcasing his athleticism in the open floor whether making plays for himself or teammates. Known as an inconsistent shooter, he showed his progress in that regard while knocking down 9-for-23 (39.1%) from deep on the week highlighted by a 4-for-5 effort in his best game on Wednesday night. Derkack continues to track among the elite wing guards in the country.

Aiden Derkack is another guy that I noticed at the beginning of camp. He didn’t seem phased by the number of scouts in the gym, and shot the ball with a ton of confidence during the warm up drills. Then in his first game, he was getting to his spots efficiently and hit some nice jumpers. Even though his shot wasn’t really falling from 3, he still had 22 points and went 10-19 from the field.

Part of a three-headed monster of top-75 recruits leading Team Final to a 3-1 record on the weekend (5-2 overall), Derkack was arguably the most consistent performer while stuffing the stat sheet with his typically high-octane two-way play. He was both consistent and efficient, averaging 17.5 points on 57% shooting while scoring 14 or more in every game. Derkack showed a blend of craft and athleticism while working his way downhill off the bounce, also showing his nose for the ball with six boards a game and flashing an improving perimeter stroke to the tune of 6-for-18 from 3. His nonstop competitive fire provides a consistent boost on both ends of the floor and made him a popular name among high-major coaches looking on throughout the weekend.
